Journalist stroking Fedr's chest before an interview

saw this live on swiss tv, was kinda cute.
you know, normally these interviews with her go a completely different route. she's still a somewhat inexperience interviewer, and often roger would kick these interviews off by answering in a way that make her look kind of incompetent. he then gets nicer and nicer and goes into greater detail explaining things to her. but not this time:D she just wasn't used to this situation where he clearly wasn't in command for once.

They appear to know each other quite well. Fed didn't complain. These stories are only designed to upset certain types of people.

And the first reply in the comments.

"Lucky it wasn't the other way around. He would be branded all kinds of names. She'd have gone on about her rights, how she feels about and a thousand news articles written. Personaly I see no harm, just warmth. Of course liberals, feminist and snowflakes do, at least when it's they other way around."

LOL! I watched the video. The female interviewer try to do it real sneaky-like where it would look innocent. Somebody need to tell her there’s a small fee to touch Roger in that way. No free feels.

Nice attempt at trying to trivialise #metoo but one of the most prominent cases was a man abusing other men (Kevin Spacey). Male victims are cared about. Quit trivialising a serious issue.
#metoo was a serious issue but now it’s a witch hunt against men and most of the “victims” have no proof or evidence.
It’s guilty until proven innocent in this new world.

Why isn't she fired? Imagine if the roles were reversed and someone did that to sureshs?
The double standard is appalling.
If the roles were reversed #metoo would be trending but no one cares when males are harassed.

i mean isn't it completely different for men and women?

most women would feel intimidated by a man doing this kinda thing, potentially threatened, etc.

most men would either A). not care or B). enjoy it and not see it as a threat

or maybe i'm missing something here

If she could barely keep her hands to herself around Fed, one imagines it would have been much worse interviewing an alpha male stud like Suresh (who actually has a proper BH). Then again, he's probably used to situations like that and knows how to deal with them efficiently.

did you know, suresh pheromones are banned in over 100 countries for making ladies lose all conscious control?

it's an honor to share a forum with his sureshness

Can you imagine the hoo-ha if a male journalist dared to run his hand down the chest of a female player???
The world would be outraged (rightfully so) but society seems to scoff at the idea of a woman harassing a man.

Here we have a newspaper story and a TTW thread about and incident that seemingly didn't affect Fed himself much at all, and your first reflex is to complain that society doesn't care enough about this sort of thing?

i think we care because it happened to Fed, but with a regular joe i'm not sure how many people would care or take any serious notice (assuming the offence is much more severe than just casually touching his chest i'm talking domestic abuse)

It is different. Because generally, men are stronger than women so in most circumstances they could easily stop any unwanted advances if they really wanted to. The same is not generally true in reverse.

I don't want to make this instance in particular a big issue because it's really not, but there is a difference that's easy to see, like you say. That said, I'm nobody's knight in shining armour. I've heard about plenty of these situations (and clearly all of us have) where I thought the man was getting wronged.

Anyway, all I wanted to convey was agreement with you.

I only know about this because of this thread.
It didn’t trend on Twitter or make headlines on Buzzfeed so society can’t care that much.

What would be the appropriate response to this egregious misstep — the Times and the Post clearing their front pages?

i still don't think this justifies

A). the male witchhunts going on right now

and

B). men getting laughed at and ignored if they report their partner for domestic abuse

but...

it's a different scenario surely?

a woman would feel threatened and a man wouldn't

Just pointing out the difference in attitudes and the double standards. Women would be screaming blue murder and be calling for his head if,say, a male Swiss journalist had touched Timea Baczinsky in that way.

this raises the question, should this double standard exist in the first place or is it proper that we get more outraged when women experience this sort of thing

i think men get the short end of the stick in so many ways nowadays that double standards should be called out

...So...equality only means in certain, prescribed situations then? This type of case is an exception? Military combat service, etc., also?

A somewhat separate issue but true on both accounts.

That said in this instance it's clear that they know each other and that Fed didn't care in the slightest. It's far removed from the scenario of some sleazy Hollywood execs using their position of power to molest/blackmail people.

Of course, I agree that Twitter statements/accusations shouldn't be used as proof.

equality to third wave feminists means having their cake and eating it too

this means quality when it is beneficial for them (equal pay, being a leader and CEO of a company, etc.) and a sudden falling back to hardcore gender roles when it doesn't suit them (going to war, mining, hard labor, sewage, etc.)

i don't know what the solution is to this

i mean how would equality work out in reality? would women ever be conscripted en masse in a war? would they ever do backbreaking labor at a construction site?

maybe we just need robots to do everything so men don't have to do the sh1tty jobs

Absolutely. Nobody should be ignored, and it's extremely unfortunate that most males that are getting abused do get ignored because of the idea that they're supposed to be "big strong men" or something like that. But it's a huge issue for men and women. It's not easy for either gender to speak out, but I'd applaud any man that did. In this day and age he wouldn't stay ignored for too long if he really wanted to press his point, IMO.

why oh why can't we get a political section on the forum or bring back "odds and ends"?

why does everything have to be about Fedal and Djokoray 24/7, we need some variety

Because some people have the “wrong” opinion about politics.

Yeah, widespread third wave feminism is the reason women are mostly kept out of the military.

Not really. Plenty of feminists themselves happily push those kinds of agendas too, which is why one of the more feminist-oriented countries quite recently introduced compulsory military service for women.
