Wow! I saw Mauresmo doing that, I've never seen that before, should I try praciting it? or is it a futile shot?

Do you have your normal backhand mastered? Can you now, hit open stance and have that mastered? If so, by all means proceed to the next level.

But if your backhand is a liability, why would you want to make it worse?

nay, it wont work mate...work on ur basic backhand, then you can think about doing a somersault backhand if you want...

Wyutani will never be anything more than a 0.5. Don't you agree, Andres Guazzelli?
Nah. If he's been playing for a year, why can't he improve? ;)
But he can be a 2.0 or 2.5 right now, why not? ;)

I do a jumping one-handed backhand a lot during the game; only because a lot of the people I play have a ton of topspin. Have to run to set up and goes above my hit zone, if you can jump to get the ball below your shoulders go for it, I actually find it easier then hitting a very low ball off the bh.

Two-handed players often do it to get a more natural swing on higher balls. Hewitt doesn't do it much because he hits with his backhand with straight arms. Safin does it often and it looks very cool when he does. Mardy Fish in particular jumps on every backhand that's not at his ankles.

The jumping one-hander is done for the same reason: to be able to swing more naturally on higher balls. Mauresmo hits it quite a bit and looks very graceful doing it. Puerta did it occasionally as does Ollie Rochus (he kind of has to sometimes).
