Just joined a new tennis club

I decided to double down and join a second club.
This new club is loaded with two 4.0 teams and a senior 4.5 team along with 5.0 team. Dont worry nobody 5.0 would ever play with me!!
Problem is ?? Almost freakin impossible to get a court. You can get courts a week in advance but they all fill up within seconds ( done by internet bookings).

I am glad I did not quit my old club.

I see to have problems at clubs.

Only 100 bucks a month so might as well give it 3 months.

I bet once you get into the playing circles (presuming you're a decent player), you'll get called often to fill vacancies (eg. "need a 4th"), and cancellations.
I used to belong to a club like that... and either:
1. I'd book the second I was able to (since I was often online during the opening time)... then I'd figure out who I was going to play with after the fact...
2. I'd often get called by others (eg. my normal foursome, we'd all book courts, so we were playing at least 4x that week)
$100/mo which includes tennis is a great deal (presuming you can crack into the main playing circles - which can be tough in tennis since we're a picky bunch).

How many courts do they have?

The club I belong to has 11 courts (4 of them are clay) and even though there are a ton of members, the fact that they have so many courts makes it quite easy to book a court.

There are some clubs in my surrounding area that have 3-4 courts only. I don't know how people ever get court time at those...

Don't get blackballed at this one too. Gas isn't cheap these days. :)

Yes, Steve, if this does not work out then there is only one final club lol.
However, my original club is working better as I found a few more games off the internet.
If not then I am driving up to Seattle lol

The club only has 7 indoor courts and fills up within seconds when you try to get a court on line.
I am just trying to find some guys to bring over to my old club and then drop out.

The idea of paying $100/month just for a membership to a club sounds awful... Southeast Texas here... everything is public... we just had our local tennis center receive some major renovations as well as some covered courts... think it costs around $3/hr to play... major uproar from the local tennis community over the cost. LOL

I hate all of you that live in places where court time is cheap!
I've seriously considered moving just for tennis, but my family network is too strong where I am now :p
