Just noticed the only Grand Slam that Djokovic never lost a set before final was his first - 2008 Australian Open

Djokovic has only once in his career reached a Grand Slam final without losing a set.

He did it at this first Grand Slam Championship - 2008 Australian Open

Federer has done it 6 times - at 2006 Wimbledon, 2007 Australian Open, 2008 Wimbledon, 2015 US Open, 2017 Wimbledon, 2018 Australian Open

Nadal has done it 7 times - 2007 French Open, 2008 French Open, 2010 French Open, 2010 US Open, 2012 French Open, 2017 French Open, 2019 Australian Open

Djokovic lost a set to Struff in the first round of this year's Australian Open.

Only superseded by his 2011 performance IMO. He had one lapse in the 2R, losing a set to Dodig. Other than that, he bulldozed everything and everyone. Just rolled over Berdych, Federer, and Murray like they were nothing.

I wouldn't say Djokovic 2011 "bulldozed" over Federer that day, after all it was 3hs for 3 sets. I watched the entire match live, and if i remember correctly, Federer had the 1st chance to break in the match, before losing a close 1st set in the tiebreak, 2nd set Federer led 5-2, before Djokovic reeled him in to take it 7-5, 3rd set Federer had a chance to break back when Djokovic was serving for the match, so in a sense this match progressed in a similar manner to their encounter in 2008 SF. I would describe the match as Djokovic containing and neutralising Federer's weapons, by playing steadier tennis in the clutch moments. He was slightly better in every set, certainly a well-deserved victory.

"Bulldozing" not necessarily by dominating the scorelines, but by playing dominant tennis. Winners from every position of the court, beating Federer on both offense and defense, just being unplayable against high quality opponents. He didn't have it easy against Federer, but the level of play from Djokovic was ridiculously high.

And MonoFed served for the 1st set. Tipsa could have won the whole thing.
I don't buy that the mono was really hampering him at AO. Hardly any commentators mentioned it in his matches from back then.
Mono or not, Tipsarevic played lights-out tennis much like Soderling at RG09 and 10, and Djokovic at AO was....well, Djokovic at AO.

Just like I don't buy 2016 Djokovic Elbow Problems.

I thought mono wasn't officially announced/talked about until March 2008? But everyone noticed his fatigue and immense amounts of sweat at AO 08.

23 year old beats 29 year old, perfectly expected given the history of tennis.
