Just picked up an IG Prestige MP

Got one of these on the bay in great condition in my preferred L3 grip size and am STOKED to give it a hit! Only issue is if I love it, I'll have to find a few more lol. What should I expect coming from rackets like the VCore Pro 97 310, CX 200 Tour 18x20, Ultra Tour, etc? I've read that they're very comfortable and very low powered, pretty stable, overall amazing racket; exactly what I like

I can't compare with those but it's a good frame. A bit weak stock because the swing weight is so low, definitely needs leading up.

You can buy in any grip size and change the pallets if you want to stock up.

I just got a hold of one too in decent condition and I normally play with a VCP97 310. I will come back with a review once I string it up.

The IG MP is a fantastic frame - I've got 3 that I bought when they were first released, and I'm still using them (coming back to tennis after a 6 year layoff).

As mentioned above, they need extra weight to really sing. Mine are set up with a leather grip & overgrip and lead at 12 and in the buttcap (4-5g in the head, 2g in the buttcap), and they weigh in at about 355g strung. At that weight, they've got plenty of heft, but are HL enough to not feel like swinging a log. I currently play with gut/poly at medium tension, and that helps to add a bit of pop to the frame - they are pretty low-powered in stock form, and even with lead.

Love the IG Prestige MP & the Mid. Why Head hasn’t gone back to that formula is puzzling. With Graphene, Head just about ruined the Prestige line. I guess the line was never one of their bigger sellers. It’s really too bad.

I used mine with no mods. They are low powered, but quick and solid through the air. Just string them low, with a thin gauge poly.

Have 2 brand new ones sitting in my treasure chest. Its one of the best frames out there. Better than the ultra tour and iprestige mps imho. Currently im using ultra tours and saving the ig mp. Needs some lead at 12. Mine has around 4 gms on the hoop

I got to serve with mine last night. Pretty solid racquet and creates a good amount of spin. Sweet spot was pretty big - it did feel boardy without a dampener. Once I put a dampener on I noticed a change in feel when making contact with the ball. Planning to hit with it tonight.

The Prestige was once Head’s big seller and most popular racquet on the ATP Tour

I remember that. When I was playing in high school & college, the Prestige Pro was probably Head’s best seller. We all wanted one. It just feels like Head is done with the line.

Long way to recovery, however, I see them moving the right direction with the 360+ layup.
It is just that latest Prestiges fell short of the old glory...

Played with it again last night and realized this stick needs a lot of lead on the hoop. Felt way too head light but each time I connected with the ball the feel was great.
