Just realized: Djokovic hasn't lost before final in 2 consecutive Grand Slams since Summer 2010

I just realized that Djokovic hasn't lost before the final in 2 consecutive Grand Slams since 2010 French Open and 2010 Wimbledon.

From 2010 US Open to 2017 Australian Open, a span of 26 Grand Slams, Novak has always been in at least one of the two previous Grand Slam finals.

How does this "streak" compare to:

Federer: 2005 Wimbledon to 2010 French Open, a span of 20 Grand Slams.

Sampras: 1993 Wimbledon to 1996 Australian Open, a span of 11 Grand Slams.

Nadal: 2010 French Open to 2012 Wimbledon, a span of 10 Grand Slams (at Grand Slams played, his streak is 2010 French Open to 2014 Wimbledon, a span of 18 Grand Slams)

Note: Lendl 1983 US Open to 1988 Australian Open, a span of 18 Grand Slams.

Would require him to get to the RG final this year. Tall order. Might happen.

Cool to see he has the record, though, despite it being a little manufactured.
(You can have a record that favors anyone as long as you add enough clauses to the record. In this case, 'Most semi-consecutive Grand Slam finals')

I think this is a good measure of a player's peak timeline

But then what about 2 consecutive upsets? I think semifinals reached per year shows peak/prime.

It's not this black and white- Djokovic was lucky to not be upset 2 tournaments in a row, which could have easily happened at the last USO.

The fact that ATG have done anywhere from 10-20 slams shows that it is expected that they don't get upset more than once consecutively . Djoker was already on the downswing last year end and the 4 retirements / byes at USO just extended his timeline

If there's any time for Djokovic to turn over a new leaf this season, it's now. Fresh new surface, and one that he had great success on last year. Seems to be injury free. We'll see what he can do.

Kind of arbitrary. His consecutive final, semifinal and quarterfinal appearances that are all 2nd only to Federer speak more about Novak's greatness. Making at least three consecutive finals at all four Majors is a record that is also more impressive IMO.

Djokovic is an all time great or he's up there on some list behind Federer/Laver/Sampras?? Nadal? His records speak for himself.
