just to show off............

anyone here (assuming you're at LEAST a 4.0) play with a PS 85 just to appear sophisticated? :) i remember when i first ordered it, i just wanted to have one to play around with occasionally. at the time, i was playing with Head prestige classic. when i first played with the PS, it felt so small and like an extension of my hand so i kept playing. gradually, i felt "better" than others who played with much larger, newer rackets so i just switched permanently!

c'mon, i'm sure there's at least one pretentious mofo like me on this board!

LOL.

I show off with my ONE Head MG Prestige.

Its basically saying "i dont need 10 racquets to beat you. I can beat you with just one, even if I break a string"

Whats pretencious about playing with a ps85?. I grew up playing with one, and in those days that was it for racquet head sizes.. Only now some 15 years later I have started to use and enjoy my 95 inch Pure Storm Tour (I know they say its 98, but its not) and don't have a problem with it..

I am only 33, but sometimes the people on these boards don't even know that there was a time before oversized, thick beamed stiff racquets and it kinda gives me a hint of how old you are in doing so.. So if someone uses a ps85. They don't need to be a 5.5 player to use it, if that is all they know from growing up in that era?

isn't that the essense of posing? - To dress so you look like a pro?

I'd really like a PS85 just for the fun of it...........for some reason it's just really entertaining to swing

There's too much hype on the PS85. I'm willing to bet that a good majority of the board who had the first chance to hit with it didn't like the feel but kept on playing with it until they got used to it because of all the hype around it being a rare classic nowadays.

I'm junior 4.5 and I use the PS85...it's really a great racket. I've been seriously using it for 2 years now, and I've won some interscholastic tournaments for my school with it. I've tried other rackets with bigger headsizes with "updated" technology to some of my coaches' requests, but the only other racket I really liked was the Head Pro Tour 280.

Exactly the opposite with me. The first time I hit with the PS 6.0 85 in 2003, I absolutely loved the feel and couldn't believe I waited 20 years to hit with one.

i think you're definitely correct! it's mostly in the mind. last year, i tried the PS tour 90, but hated it, because i didn't WANT to like a racket other than PS 85. now that the PS85 is gone (hard to find even on the auction site), i tried the PS Tour 90 again, and LOVED it...because i knew the PS85 was gone and i would eventually have to switch to something else.

but, the PS85 is still the best frame i've hit with. i think its small size more than anything else.
