Just Up The Road To Tampa For Super Bowl LV, February 7, 2021; Who Rocks The Buccaneer Boat?

Foles to Jimmy Graham. It's so crazy it just might work.

Or lead to a 4-12 season.

Either or!
Your division plays both South divisions in the rotation for 2020. Da Bears also play a 3rd place schedule so they get NYG and LAR too. With relative mistake-free offense and an accurate kicker they can eke out some wins with their sound defense. 7-9 is a bad result, 10-6 is ceiling. In other words, MOR.

I want to see Pats draft a QB in the first round and let him and Stidham battle it out for the starting job. Except let the loser start lol. We ain't winning the SB next year, might as well let the lesser QB start and get some recognition under the BB system so we can trade him.

Vegas says the Bears will finish 3rd in the Norris.

Seahawks have signed the first-round pick from their famed 2012 draft class (physical freak and edge-rushing specialist Bruce Irwin ) to another tour of duty. I like the move, as long as the price is team-favorable.

I can see that. There’s some merit to playing NFC South softies Carolina and Atlanta, AFC South softie Jacksonville and questionably soft Houston after dumping their second best offensive player. If da Bears sweep Detroit and defend home turf with the rest of the division and also split NYG/LAR, all they need is .500 ball vs the two South divisions that’s 9-7.

With 7 playoff slots, 9-7 might be good enough to make the tourney.

Todd Gurley was cut by LAR. Nobody was willing to trade even a late round draft pick out of concern about his knee issues and the current inability to do a needed physical before the deal. The guy scored 21 touchdowns in 2018.

If pats had signed Gurley and then got Cam Newton, we’d have an outside shot at it. We would need them both to be healthy and play up to par. I think we’d be solid contenders if that happened, but I say outside shot because that probably wouldn’t happen.

Anyways, looks like the Falcons got Gurley. Not good. I don’t want Brady’s division getting tougher.

Are you jumping from the sinking Pats' ship to the Bucs' Brady-led bandwagon?

Nah. I want Brady to win the Super Bowl next year since I'm pretty sure we won't though. If it were to be Pats vs Buccs in the Super Bowl I'd obviously roll with the Pats. I'll be rooting for Brady, but not when he's facing us, well maybe during regular season if we were already out of contention.

Edit: No Buccs on our schedule.

As a Pats/Brady/Beli insider, what’s your confidence level on the Pats and Bucs respective chances this year?

Idk lol. I'm not really the best analyst. If I had to guess, I'd say Pats go something like 10-6 if they can find a good replacement quarterback like Newton and 8-8 with an inexperienced QB at the helm. Keep in mind, though everyone thinks our receiving corps is bad, and though they were bad last year, I think the younger players like Harry and Meyers will have improved significantly. Our D should still be pretty good. Our schedule is absolutely brutal though.

I honestly don't think Buccs have the best chance to make the Super Bowl with the D they had last year. Offense looking potent though. Especially if they can get Antonio Brown. I say they win their division though. Of course, the Saints may take it, but I'm betting on Brady. Buccs have a brutal second half of the season as well.

Really like the Funchess signing actually. We've never had a WR that big in the Rodgers era. I guess Lazard but he's still a work in progress.

6'4 Wrs can do a lot of damage. If we get Carolina Funchess look out.

I hate it. Robby Anderson (2/20) and Breshad Perriman (1/8) fit our needs more imo. Both are faster and we haven’t had speed at wr in forever. Shouldn’t have let them both go. As you can see by their contracts they signed (I put in parentheses) they were both affordable

My Seahawks went with Dorsett to be WR3. I’ve never seen him play. The Seahawks have signed a bunch of first-round bust guys this off-season.

Hopefully they're still going to draft a WR or two as well.

Antonio Brown won’t wear pewter and blood red in 2020. Arians, who was OC at Pittsburgh when AB was green, knows the potential distraction that the diva could bring as baggage and has already ruled out disrupting the locker room he’s built for TB12 to step into.

Rams are sending Brandin Cooks to Houston in a pre-draft trade that nets LAR a 2R pick in exchange for their own 4R pick in 2022.

Another Bonehead O’Brien move for the Texans. Also, a very late move by LAR that costs them $4MM in roster bonus and counts as $21.8MM in dead cap money this year.

How does O’Brien still have his job? With so many of these head scratchers recently, seems like the bottom is about to fall out on the Texans, despite having one of the more talented young QBs in the league. Start prepping your GM resume @stringertom.

The Rams also seem primed for a drop back into the NFC West cellar. They made the mistake of overpaying average players like Cooks, Gurley, and Goff at superstar rates, not realizing that their offense was good because they had the best O-Line in the league. Now their O-Line no longer elite, and they are cutting dead weight and stuck with Goff regressing to who he was.

I have to disagree with Cooks being average. He's just not tough, but he runs routes as good as anyone. He's got a bad contract to pick up though. He's definitely not worth risking that kind of money. I do think O'Brien made this move in trying to compensate for the fact that he has been unintentionally sabotaging the career of Deshaun Watson.

NFC West used to be the red haired stepchild but not anymore.:

AirRaidZona will be lethal on offense with Hopkins as Kyler’s prime target.

SF will avoid the SB-loser decline with that stud defense.

Seattle is perennially in the mix.

LAR will be OK and get a little bump from the new stadium.

Could be 8-8 is bottom, factored by the soft divisional rotation of both East divisions. In the NFC East there are Dallas, NYG and Washington with new HCs, so rough edges are going to be magnified by the loss of pre-camp meetings. In the AFC East I’m not looking at a juggernaut in Foxboro anymore; Buffalo may be top dog. Miami is still a work in progress and of course I know Gase’s guys in green will stink again. 6-2 out of division will be easy.

He’s had 5 known concussions, which may or may not contribute to his butterfingers.

One more ding on the noggin and he’ll probably retire.

He also is more a burner than a possession receiver and they already have Fuller for the stretch factor.

All in all, absorbing that much $ hit and giving a 2R pick for him is a really bad deal for Houston,

Good point about next year being easy sched for NFC West. Maybe this will be my Seahawks’ best chance in a while to get back to the SB. I like their earlier move to acquire a CB1 to get back to having a legit secondary, and I have a feeling they will pull off a draft day blockbuster deal to get a stud edge rusher like Ngakoue that they sorely need.

I think the asking price for Ngakoue will be too high (Jags want 2 1R picks) and Seattle could retain Clowney on the edge without making a trade for similar numbers (now reduced by the former overall #1 to $17-18MM). Second year in the same system will be a bouncback for him.

Best CB in the draft outside top 10 would be Clemson’s A.J.Terrell or Utah’s Jaylon Johnson.

I'm hoping Pats draft Joe Burrow, Tristan Wirfs, and CeeDee Lamb. I don't like our chances, but hey, there's a chance, right? There's always a chance!!!!!!!

Will you pull for TB in TB these last few years of his career???
Yes, as long as it's not the SB against the Pats or a crucial regular season game for the Pats. Gotta root for Belichick too.

On a side note, my God that CeeDee Lamb kid is nasty. Just looked up highlights because I didn't actually know who that was.

WR heavy draft this year with Lamb, Jeudy, Ruggs, Jefferson, Higgins, Shenault, Aikuk, Simms all projected 1R...that’s 25% of 1R picks!

Let the other teams take the WRs. RW's accuracy makes undrafted no-name guys look like superstars (including 2 of his 3 most-targeted targets over his 8-year career). Give me a CB who can cover and a legit DE in rounds 1 and 2 to bring my D back to respectability!

Seattle just resigned CB Niko Thorpe. Not enthused with this. I can’t rid my memory of him getting abused by Edelman’s jukes down the stretch of SB XLIX after Edelman’s rough takedown took nickel starter Lane out of the game.

Patriots traded The Bronk who has not played last season and is a Fox analyst last season. Patriot gets 4th round while Bucs get back 7th round in return! Bronk will get $10 million if he plays from Patriot contract!

Brady’s QBR with Gronk available was 10 points higher than without the Big Dude: in 113 games together before Gronk’s retirement , Brady’s TD/INT ratio was about 5:1; in 30 games without the TE, Brady was just above 2:1.

Under 23 hours to the opening pick is made. Who do you want for your team?

At #11, my Jets will either grab one of the top OL prospects or, if they are gone, the first or second WRs and then swing around to the best WR at #48 on the second day. Louisville OT Mekhi Becton (6’7”, 367) visited Florham Park several times before the quarantine began and is their obvious hope to protect Darnold. If he’s gone and Jerry Jeudy (WR, Alabama) is still there, then they’re going that route. Penn State WR K.J. Hamler would be the 2R option if they nab Becton tomorrow night.

I hope the Pats get someone good. Have no one in mind really. That CeeDee Lamb kid is nasty though.

The Pats will have to move up big time for Lamb, probably the 2nd WR to get picked. They can probably get WR Jefferson if they move up just a bit.

For your Packers, here’s the chance to draft a QB for grooming under AR12...Jordan Love has some amazing arm skills reminiscent of Mahomes but needs to mature under a GOATy legend. The problem is trading up to get ahead of NO and the Payton/Brees nest that’s a better fit. Otherwise, take a gamble on Colorado WR Shenault and his recovery from core muscle surgery.

I need to work for NFL Network to replace Peter Schrager, whose mock draft has Tua dropping to #16 and the Jags, who swapped positions with Atlanta and get the 2021 ATL 1R pick too.

Would rather wait and take Fromm for a qb. Too much wr talent in the first this year and I think 3/4 1st round qbs will be busts

Really no big surprises through the top 8; Midgets needed an OT but taking Thomas at #4 is a reach...guess there wasn’t a trading partner.

Jets follow through on the multi-visit LT Becton at #11.

Raiders take Henry Ruggs as first WR...big surprise his teammate Jeudy wasn’t the first WR.
