How will evil Bill utilize beaten-up Superman?
All joking aside if he’s healthy I think they get a wild card. I think the Bills win the division no matter what. I never saw Cam as an elite passer. If he’s hurt I think they finish 3rd. I still like them better than the Jets as long as they have Gase as HC. I also love Flores as a coach and Tua as a QB and they’ll beat out NE if Cam is hurt.

Cam is a whole different package of talent and level than all the other QBs that Josh McDaniels has ever coached not named Brady. He puts Cassel, Cutler, Orton and Bradford to shame on pure athleticism. I’m sure McDaniels is nervously optimistic about their mutual potential. If he can get Cam’s completion % into the mid 60s and keep the TD/TO ratio above 2.5 it will be a nice fit.

Gonna be weird seeing RPO in a McDaniels offense but I think they were headed that way with Stidham. Both are Auburn products working in the Gus Malzahn system.

Mahomes is ready to sign the most valuable contract in NFL history...a 10-year extension has been tacked onto the remaining two years of his rookie deal; total numbers: $450million added to make the deal a $503million total with $477million in guarantee mechanisms.

Schefter is reporting on it. Lurie and Howie Rosemann are both Jewish. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s cut.

unfortunately it’s a lose-lose because if he is cut, people will see it as proof of the jewish conspiracy against him. And if he isn’t it’s Riley Cooper 2.0

Lol that’s actually true.

Still waiting for Malik Jackson to call out his teammate or Lebron or Kamara to call this out.

Cooper not being cut was such a stupid decision. He wasn’t good and like this situation there’s nothing unclear about what he said. I doubt he gets cut because athletes are held to a lower standard than the rest of us

Lots of weird news coming out in the Baker and Dunbar story. As a Seahawks fan, I am hoping it’s not true. If true though, just cut him - I want my D-back to be smart enough not to commit armed robbery when he has a few million already sitting in his bank account.

My ‘Hawks make a bold win-now trade to grab Jamal Adams to shore up their leaky defense.
Good luck! He is an impact player between the lines but his ego will need to be placated with a top dollar contract and that’s awful hard to offer a safety on a team with a high-priced QB. The Jets get a veteran safety (McDougald) to ease the pain immediately a bit, then consecutive 1R picks and an upgrade from a 4R to 3R pick. The move also gives more playing time for rookie safety Ashtyn Davis in the Jet secondary.

This move is hard to judge yet. The Seahawks have whiffed a couple of times on these types of go-for-it-now moves (Percy Harvin, Jimmy Graham). But the Duane Brown has mostly worked out.

He won’t be a whiff between the lines. The guy is a stud safety but the money baggage is going to be an issue.

Adams also had his heart set on being a Cowboy so if Pete and Brian don’t cough up big $ it may be a short rental.

If Dunbar can survive his weird armed robbery case in time for the season, the Seahawks would arguably have the best defensive back core of 4 in the league (with Quandre Diggs and pro-bowl alternate Shaquill Griffin). All they would need then to be back in SB contention for 2020 is for Clowney to wake up and sign on for another season to prove his value.

Man, the amount of draft capital given up by Seattle for Adams is almost unprecedented for a non-QB. You have to go back to the legendary Herschel Walker trade that led directly to the Cowboys ‘90’s mini-dynasty.

But maybe the Seahawks are banking on maintaining their history of draft skills and weaknesses? They have a history of making terrible bust picks in the end of the first round, but being one of the best front offices in identifying top tier talent hidden gems in later rounds. This way they can’t be blamed for drafting another first round bust for awhile.

Your NFC West rivals LAR made a similar deal last year, giving up consecutive 1Rs and a 4R for Jalen Ramsey. McDougald is the only additional sweetener in this deal. He will be 30 this season so there’s a bit of wear on the tread.

The Rams seem like they are in free fall. So the precedent doesn’t look good. Luckily, the Seahawks are propped up by a generational talent at QB, while the Rams made the mistake of pushing in all their chips on mediocre Goff.

Opt out is the trend in the NFL! Pats have the defense starters opting out!
Belichick going have to dig deep to shore up the defense. If I was a NFL
player making $5-15 million a season, I can live for a year on $2-6 million(after taxes)
and sit out this season.

It will not be the ideal draft to rebuild with if there is a limited or no college season unless you get in top 5 or so and pick a proven commodity like Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields or Jamarr Chase.

Bill will send his scouts to secretly record prospects’ workouts, giving him the edge in the draft.

To much politics happening in the NFL now too! I do not think the fan base will be too excited either with the first week of regular season will be dedicated to honoring BLM and after that, some of players will be kneeing at the Star Spangled Banner being played! It might turn off a lot of fans like that of the AMC cancelling Live PD TV Series and loosing 50% of they audience in the process!

LOB 2.0 era officially begins today!

Adams: consensus best safety in football.
Diggs: 2-time probowl alternate at safety.
Dunbar: PFF’s #2-ranked cover corner.
Griffen: Probowl alternate last year at corner.

Last year’s secondary was half-decent in the small number of games when Diggs was on the field, but terrible when he wasn’t. So having a solid defensive backfield is huge.

After re-watching that Pats and Titans game from last year, I have full confidence in Brady and the Buccs. With how bad our receivers were at getting separation last year, this year will be a breath of fresh air for Brady.

It is possible Buccs defense is not as bad as I thought. With all the turnovers from Winston last year, I guess they had a lot of pressure on them. Still, beating out the Saints will not be easy.

The Bucs finished 2019 as the 3rd best defense in the NFL behind only Ravens and Steelers (and #1 in the NFC, ahead of the Niners) based on weighted DVOA. TB12 chose his team carefully.

Brady has mimicked The Big LaBronski by moving from weaker AFC (except for KC) to very deep NFC. If the Bucs emerge from the NFC it will be one of his toughest career accomplishments.

Also Ravens who beat 49ers last year. I think Browns will also be very good this year. Odell will be back and better than ever.

ESPN finally pulled the plug on the horrendous MNF booth crew. Out with the fight dude Joe Tessitore and the fat dude Booger McFarland. In with veteran SportsCenter anchor Steve Levy, NFL analyst Louis Riddick and second generation NFL QB Brian Griese. Big improvement!

Ngakoue to the Vikes. The price to pry him away from the Jags was lot lower than the desperate all-in win-now bounty of picks my ‘Hawks gave up to secure the disgruntled Adams from the Jets.

I would hope not. Ngakoue is at best top 15 at his position while Adams is a game-changing safety. Vikings will have nice bookends edge rushers now but Hunter will be the alpha of the pair.

Jags continue the Tank for Trevor fire sale by waiving RB Leonard Fournette, claiming they could not find a home for him via trade. They are still on the hook for his final year of the rookie deal he signed as the overall #4 pick in the draft class that included 20 eventual Pro Bowl chosen after him. Four of those are RBs chosen after him...CMC, Cook, Kamara and Connor. Add in RB/return specialist Cohen if you please.

Jags owner Khan threw Coughlin under the bus after another disappointing season but curiously retained longtime GM/EVP David Caldwell as he enters his eighth season at the post of idiot-in-chief. It’s a really bad culture there in Duval when so many great opportunities are squandered in a division they should have dominated with the picks they have had since 2013:

2013: #2 OT Luke Joeckel
2014: #3 QB Blake Bortles
2015: #3 Edge Dante Fowler
2016: #5 CB Jalen Ramsey
2017: #4 RB Fournette
2018: #29 DT Taven Bryan
2019: #6 Edge Josh Allen
2020: #9 CB C.J. Henderson

That’s an average selection at #8 for eight years. Jacksonville has zero division titles, two playoff games wins in the one good season.

Khan needs to either sell the franchise to someone interested in developing a product worth watching or admit Caldwell has kompromat on him that doesn’t allow the axe to drop on the incompetent’s neck.

So how does it work? Who gets to claim Fournette?

Worst record first in the pecking order for the first day; after Tuesday at 4pm Fournette becomes a FA and sign with anyone.

I’m calling BS on Caldwell/Marrone. The guy had 1500 yards from scrimmage in 15 games last year. 31 teams and not even one offer??? Bill O’Brien shipped a top 3 WR to Arizona for a RB with 715 yards and durability issues.

The saddest part is that they reached for Bortles in 2014 (a guy hardly anyone but the Jags thought was any good), and then after a couple of offensive stinker years from Bortles, they stood by their man and passed on Watson and Mahomes so that they could take a RB with the #4 pick. Now that RB can be picked up for pennies. Sad.

Fournette is now a Buc and the most up-to-date list of new pirates on the offensIs simply amazing:

QB Tom Brady
TE Rob Gronkowski
RBs Leonard Fournette and Lesean McCoy
OT Tristan Wirfs (1R pick) C A.Q. Shipley and OT Joe Haeg

Two great WRs (Evans and Godwin), two solid TEs (Howard and Brate), RB Ronald Jones, slot receiver Scottie Miller and a decent group of OL are the holdovers from a high octane 2019 offense. If Arians can get everyone on the same page quickly this offense could rewrite a lot of records.
