Justine withdraws from Sydney :(

Logical. She needed matches, so signed up for both. Made the final and decided rest was better. Makes perfect sense.

I didnt see where in the article it says withdrew from AO

You're right, Yahoo Sports put up an incorrect link saying "Henin withdraws from Australian Open", but the actual article talks only about Sydney! Sorry about jumping the gun.

Why would she need rest? It's the very beginning of the season, she's played 4 or 5 matches, and and she needs more match play.

Is she slightly injured?

Yes, I read that she has sustained a slight muscle injury in her leg during the Brisbane final. Nothing really serious though, she just needs rest to heal it and be in top form for the AO.

She also hasnt played for 2 years. It's not easy to build fitness really quick.

True, but I'm assuming she did do a good amount of physical training prior to starting the season. But, match fitness is a different thing than general fitness, so it makes sense.
