Hey guys im new here to these forums. Ive read through a couple of threads and its quite interesting regarding the talk about rackets here.

Im planning on buying a new racket and currently looking at the k95 as i think it would really suit my current game. But im not sure whether the 16x18 or 18x20 string pattern would be better. Can anyone enlighten me on the pros and cons of each as i dont really know exactly the difference in play and feel both will give me.

im still a student and can only afford one racket so i really wan to make the right choice. Pity that my area has none for demo......:-(

btw, i live in asia, so i will be buying a AK95. :D

16x18 is more powerful, softer and easy to generate spin with. 18x20 has better control, hits a "flatter" kind of ball and feels harsher.

18x20 gives much better control, if string low at mid 50 it doesnt feel harsh at all, even soft which is great for touch shots. Power level i believe is still the same, on par with 16x18, it's just much better in control department, meaning you can paint lines with it. Take a look at pro tour, lots of them play with 18x20 pattern rather than 16x18
Also, you go through string much faster with the 16x18 than with 18x20:p

if your in Asia you wont get the K95 18*20 tour ver, they only sell the k 95 18*20 the team ver though which is not a bad racket also. K 95 is available though in 16*18 dont understand why wilson never released an Asian tour ver of the 18*20

cheers

really? In asia, they dont sell non-team K95 with 18x20 string patterns? So far i have seen only rackets here on TW to make a choice as in my country, you gotta order the racket from the shop. Yea i know that sucks.

Ive heard many people here prefer and actually say the the 18x20 is better than the 16x18 one. So im kind of leaning towards the 18x20 side.

That aside, if i cant get a K95 with that string pattern, you think there will be a AN95 with that string pattern?

oh yea i forgot to mention, Im a player with decent strokes and i usually go S & V on my serves and i love to attack the net. My serve is my strongest stroke. I have a 1hbh. Im using the PD+ but i feel that a standard length will do my 1hbh more justice. I dont really know my level cos i dont know how to judge myself using a system different from that in the US.
