Karlovic has the most boring game in tennis

There have been posts lately about who has the most boring game of them all. Someone says Isner, someone says Raonic etc. but i've found the official answer! IVO KARLOVIC is the answer.

Look at him, nearly no footwork, no backhand at all, and a forehand which is nothing close to consistent (also due to his footwork).
He only survives by his serve, which most people would be able to at his height!
Also his body language on the court is next to none...

No, im not trying to show my hate to Karlovic, but i mean come on - dont judge Isner, Raonic etc. as having boring games!
Any thoughts? I would love to hear other opinions, and for once i would love to hear real araguments against Isner and Raonic if you have!

Karlovic is probably one of the best volleyers in the top 100. His backhand slice is understated but effective in its own right. I don't have anything against Ronic or Isner but to call boring someone who plays so many brilliant net points is disappointing to me.

I like Ivo's game because he plays S/V when serving, then plays baseline tennis when recieiving.
What can be boring about an all court game?

Agreed. At least he brings some variety to a game dominated by pure baseliners.

OP: You think having incredible footwork is easy for someone who is practically a giant? Karlovic is smart, he volleys well and serves well. Why should he focus on the rest of his game if that's how he wins and pays his bills?

Everytime I have a chance I watch Karlovic play unless it is against Isner
I love to see how his opponents struggle to find a solution against him it is actually fascinating to watch, one of my fav players

Dr. Ivo is no spring chicken at the age of 36 so his recent resurgence is mighty impressive. Simon (no slouch on a hard court) was his latest victim. He has a good chance of making the quarterfinals at the greatest slam of all time this week where the Djoker is projected. I agree he is not entertaining to watch, but his skills as noted above make him a growing threat. Nobody wants to play him.

I wouldn't say he plays baseline tennis when receiving. Anything remotely short and he'll chip and charge.

Isner, Karlovic ,and Raonic could get acting jobs in the hit t.v series "The Walking Dead". They wouldn't have to act though.

But I enjoy watching all 3 play, as long as their opponent can get a decent amount of serves back... and isn't a big server themselves. Otherwise, yes, quite boring.

Karlovic seperates himself with his 1h. The 2h is a boring stroke to begin with, combine that with a serve bot and its unwatchable.

I like watching karlovic play

I thought it was widely accepted that John Isner has the most bring game? Karlovic is fun to watch, he has a massive forehand, wicked slice and great volleys:) Amazing how much pressure he puts on everyone he plays.

Not a new subject, and a subject which is subjective and won't ever be settled.

Like them or not, Isner and Karlovic (I wouldn't quite categorize Raonic in there, as I believe he relies the most out of the "trio" on a ground game. Just my personal opinion, as I'm sure many would disagree) are a breath of fresh air to tennis which may be seen as a contrast to an otherwise "homogenized" group of playing styles which occupy the top rankings of the game. Karlovic in particular. He has one of the most extreme games in tennis, unquestionably the best serve of all time, and great volleys. Although not particularly reliable, watching him slap forehands with a great amount of pace is also a joy to watch. I feel as though Karlovic's serve is a tad more clutch than Isner's, of course both serves have their advantages that serve well in different situations. Lots of different styles, and you don't necessarily need to like them or characterize them as boring, as I dislike watching highly defensive games like Ferrer or Simon, but they're very good for tennis and provide a good contrast. When you can pair one of those two, or even Nishikori up against an Isner or Karlovic, it's intriguing to see the styles from either side of the spectrum, and I'm not sure if even the people who do not like either extreme sides of the spectrum can't appreciate that contrast.

It's all the game of tennis, and it would be boring without.

Does Karlovic even topspin?

I wish Ivo would leave his boring game back in the 90's with other players of his ilk like Pete Sampras and Borris 'just a serve' Becker. He can take Sampras clone Isner with him. Real tennis players wear down their opponents from the back of the court like the gladiators of Ancient Rome.

disagree with OP.

Ivo's contrast with the rest of the field is enough to make his game interesting.

plus he deserves great credit for being in such great shape, especially at his age and height. just compare his physique to Isner's. both are the same height, but Isner looks like a lanky gumby compared to Ivo!
