Karolina Muchova’s Racquet

Professional
I noticed that her’s says “Speed MP” while the other Head Pros usually have only the name of the line denoted, i.e. Gravity, Speed, etc.... (without “Pro,” “MP”) because they are using pro stocks.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but this most likely means she is using an actual retail 360 Speed MP!

I think she uses the TGT 339x pro stock code (339.1 for 18x20, 339.2 for 16x19, Pro and MP respectively). I have both versions and both have Pro and MP noted on them.

Which retail version of the Speed MP does TGT339.2 resemble most?

I saw her strings and looks like 4G mains and perhaps gut in the crosses?

Why is it black? Is it the 360 or 360+ MP. The 360+ MP is white and it's the newer version, the 360 is the older version and it's black, but doesn't make sense for it to be the older one.

Very interesting. I just bought the 360+ mostly because I couldn't find a demo of the 360. I do like it a lot, but am thinking the swing weight is a little too high for me after using it for a couple of months. The specs of the older version actually match my previous racquet more closely. Not that I buy based on what pros use, but telling when you see more pros using an older version than the newer one.

So no one knows what strings she is using??

@dr325i, @vsbabolat, or anyone else, do you know??

For your convenience, here is a picture from Gettyimages clearly showing the strings.

Is it 4G mains with natural gut crosses??

Just curious: What is the importance of knowing this info? Why does it matter what string she's using at this particular event? If it's Hurricane and gut, so what? Do people run out and put the same strings on a Speed MP and expect to play like her??

Well it just so happens I bought a 360+ Speed MP but wanted some string suggestions to get the best out of the frame! Knowing she is a high caliber touring pro “1 in a million” using a retail Speed MP from the 360 line (similar to the 360+ line).

Just curious: Why are you so irritated of me asking the question that no one asked before? It’s the subsection of TT about Pro’s equipment. You just had to move on to the next thread...

I am not irritated and didn't intend to make you or anyone defensive. I am genuinely curious what the interest is in knowing every tiny detail about a pro's setup. I see her playing a Speed MP paint job (I, too play the Speed MP) and whatever strings work for her and her game. What string a pro plays, at least from my perspective, doesn't matter to me at all. Interesting to know? I guess so. Do guys draw some correlation between pro player's string choices and their own game? I would never choose a string for myself because player X uses it too. But, since we're using the same stick, I use Head Hawk Touch and think it's great. Good spin, feel and my serves dive into the box. Other strings worth considering is Solinco Confidential or Babolat RPM Team, which is a good all around performer with good durability. Pros cut their strings out after each match and most only use the racket until the next ball change -- which is another good reason not to put too much into what a pro uses.

Karolina has played with many differents string, you can see her with full grey string (looks as BB alu) with full white strings (looks like natural gut) but the most often she plays with yellow strings in main and white in cross (maybe 4g and vs touch) lately, since Cincinnati you can see her with black in main and white in cross (maybe hawk touch for the main) probably change the 4g for hawk touch. I can’t tell you exactly what she use, but actualy, it’s mono in main and natural guts in cross.

On this picture, you can see black string in main, it was at Cincinnati this year, I play with hawk touch, it’s the same color, and the feeling is similar with 4g. Maybe she change her 4g luxilon for head string.
