KBlade Tour + BiPhase + Alu Power

I'm planning on getting my KBlade Tour strung with Technifibre X-One BiPhase 16 and Luxilon Alu Power. This will be my first time using a hybrid and a poly. I've read that the mains give most of the feel and so I have decided to put the BiPhase in the mains and the Alu Power in the crosses.

I normally string my racquet with Technifibre NRG2 @ 54lbs, so I was thinking of stringing the BiPhase @ 54lbs and the Alu Power @ 50lbs. Is this an appropriate tension in a hybrid?

Also, I was wondering what does the cross string provide in a hybrid? The Alu Power in the mains would give less feel but more spin. So what exactly is the purpose of the cross string?

Yes, that is an appropriate hybrid. most recommended tension difference between hybrids is usually 5 lbs. Cross strings provide comfort and control. If you have mains as poly, u can have multi as cross to soften up the stringbed

If you hybrid the strings, the crosses are mainly use to either rein in the power of the mains or soften the string bed due to usage of a stiffer strings in the mains. In general, Alu will probably give you 10 hours or so before they become dead but since you are putting in Biphase which doesn't last as long either, you should be fine.

My experience with Biphase is that they start to fray around the five hour mark and then they break around the 10 to 15 hours of play.

What would be the differences if I switched the Alu Power to the mains and BiPhase to the crosses?

much more tension would be lost and the racket would feel a bit stiffer. The strings will feel dead quicker, because poly strings dont last as long as multis, in terms of playability of course. However, you will get much more power.
