Hi, Im going to restring my kblade tour. Its strung @ 58 lbs with nxts and I hate it. It feels very boardlike. Not much power or spin. Whats a better tension to try? Im probably going to put pro hurricanes and xcels on it.

Thanks ;)

really? i have my 3 strung at 58, 59 and 60 with a 16g multi and it plays fine. though if i hit anywhere off center it lets me know. i found if i relax a bit when swinging out it responds well.
all that said, lower the tension. this stick feels completely different at 54. i just couldn't control it at that tension.

try it between 50 and 53 lbs. i used to have mine strung at 53lbs with synthetic gut. hurricane is a bit stiffer, so you might try the low 50s.

Ok, thanks Ill try it. I hope it will help, I really need to buy a machine, shelling out 35 bucks every time I wanna tweak with something is getting ridiculous.

i have mine strung 50/53 - hybrid. It plays good but not enough spin. compared to my RDIS 100 93 (strung 56/54)- which is supposedly stiffer than the kblade tour.

I would be interested to hear if anyone has strung around 48 / 50 before?

I have two of them and they're strung with nxt tour 17" @ 48,5.
In the beginning I strung them @ 58 and I couldn't get to much power or spin but now the combination between power and control is perfect.

I've hit with guys who hit with decent spin using that racquet so it really isn't the racquet imo.

I even had the stick n strung it with a stiff poly like polyforce at 54/54. A bit board like but overall pretty ok.

NXT is a soft comfy string but 58 in a 18x20 93sq in frame may make it feel like a board.

I would suggest a cyberblue/OG sheep syn gut at 52 to 54 lbs. A decent cheap hybrid for testing purposes.

I eventually sold the KBT n tried out a MGMP which I much preferred (head grip shape was an issue though).

wow. i never knew that this thread was out there. I have owned these racquets for about a month now and i can see what you all mean about the board like feeling. I think that i am going to try stringing mine up a little looser at like 52 or something. right now i am strung at 57 mains and 62 crosses. I was considering adding lead at '2 and '10 but this might help a little with the stiff feeling. thanks alot!
