Keep an eye out for Murray's new shoes.

A top dog from Addidas was watching the AO final and was appalled by the state of Murray's shoes because it was obviously bad press as the shoes were battered. So the big dog phoned up Murray's Adi man to see why his soes were in such a bad state. Turns out that Murray doesnt like wearing in new shoes so he wore the same pair for the whole tournament. To solve this problem Adidas are going to make a completely new shoe for Murray. It will look like a Barricade on the top but have a very soft and thin sole making it very easy to wear in. Obviously the shoe will wear out extremely fast but Murray will be able to switch regularly.

I don't know when Andy will start using the shoe but keep an eye out on his soles and at some point we will spot it.

No. A completely personal shoe only for Andy. With a completly different sole. It will look like a stock barricade from the top.

That's just ********.

I mean just spend some time and break in a few pairs of shoes. And it says for Tennis (Court) shoes that break in isn't even required... So I really don't get that at all.

Where did u get this news from?

Someone close to the horses mouth.

Any news on 2011?

Haha, not yet man. I haven't forgoten you, as soon as i do find out something i will share it!

Well, tell Andy that.

umm... i didnt think it's anything to be "excited" about.... from memory, Fed, Nadal and other top ranked players have had "custom" insole, outsole and what not made to their liking.

i didnt think Andy has done anything wrong by wearing a pair of shoes he was happy and comfortable with. im sure you'd understand playing a GS final you'd want everything to be perfect for you, not other people, including your sponsor(s).

Very, true and well put. I doubt the new outsole will be anything to exciting...

Maybe Murray should get the Vapor S2s customized to look like Adidas... Sharapova has no problem wearing new ones every tourney.... just wish Nike would release new S2s to the public.

yeah, verdasco had custom barricades in the clay season if i recall someone put some pics of his custom red barricades. they were stock barricades with custom paint and a different outsole.

Murray back in Barricade 5 in Paris Masters??

What's up?? :confused:Murray is back to wearing the Barricade 5 in his match with Nalbandian.
Obviously Andy has not been a big fan of the B 6.0, he seems to be going back to the B5 a lot.

Agreed. I keep about three pairs of the same shoe and I spend about a month breaking them in through regular rotation.

There's going to be a break-in period for any new pair of shoes regardless of how they're constructed.

Nothing new here. Connors used to pay a guy to wear his shoes to break them in. And, Connors had his shoes custom made. The sole was very thin to eliminate as much weight as possible. So thin, that I read in SI that in a long 5 setter, he might actually wear them out.

That is exactly what i thought watching todays match. So he switched from Barricade VI into V and Wawrinka from V to VI :)

Hmm, I saw Florian Mayer in some new/or older? adidas (all grey colour) lately too..
