KFactor K Six-One Tour 90 Club

guys...
if anybody is interested in a almost brand new (9.5+) condn k90 send me an email. i'm letti g go of one of mine and looking to sell asap. havnt had a chance yet to post in the sales yet,,but will do so.

Ok, I've demo'd this stick quite a few times now. The first time I hit with it was when it was first released. Hated it then.

Fast-forward to this afternoon. A friend that I hit with decided to switch to K90s recently. I told him that Roger will sometimes string his sticks as low as 44 lbs. and my friend decided he wanted to see what that was like. So today, I went out to hit with a ball machine and borrowed my buddy's stick. O.M.G. I was working on my forehand, which is my weaker wing. With the K90 at 44 lbs., I went through the entire ball machine and missed only ONE forehand (hit the tape). I've never done this on my forehand side before. And I wasn't pushing the ball over either--most of my shots were heavy, penetrating, lots of clearance over the net. I don't think I've ever had a better time with my weaker wing.

After years of injuries, I'm really hoping to get back to a 5.0 level and this afternoon was probably the brightest moment I've had on a tennis court since maybe 2002. I'm super excited to hit again this weekend!

What makes the k90 so popular? i mean i use it and about 12 others at my club use it and i bet a few of you guys use it. so why is it so popular?

^

Lol is that the only reason to get it?
There are no people who didnt like the plowthrough and the heavy shots coming from this racquet;the reasons many are giving it up is more in their heads,in my opinion.
Every time they miss a shot or if the arm gets a little tired it's becouse the racquet is too demanding but if you just stay with it,the body will adapt and the arm will not get tired;you will improve the hand-eye coordination and the footwork without even knowing it.

LE:I've just read other opinions on this racquet and I see it's not only me who thinks that this racquet is feeling so naturally in the hand.

People use it including yourself because of Federer thats why you have a picture of Federer in your avatar. The K90 is a great racquet but the reason why you use the racquet is only because of Federer so in a sense you answered your own question.

Obviously that is the initial reason to use it but if you play like crap when you get it, other factors come into it. I dont continue to use it if im playing crap just cos roger federer uses it, i would just switch.

Well,I have a pic of Federer in my avatar too, long time before I bought a K90 and the reason I stayed with it it's becouse it's the first racquet wich improve my shots and serve for the first time I've hit with it;it teaches you to have a clean shot.
My fav player is Andy Roddick,I bought the PDR+ becouse of it,trying to like it but felt to bulky for me.

Add me to the club. I just picked a demo version for $70. I have yet to try it, but I wanted to try my old swing with an Eastern grip and was looking for an old school racquet.

Add me!! I just absolutely love it. The plow through and the spin I can get with slices..It's amazing. Best racquet I've had yet. It looks absolutely amazing (best looking racquet I've seen, reminds me of the air force for some reason), it's weight is perfect, the head size is perfect at 90, head light so thats real good, and my motions all look better causing me to be fluid as well so I don't rush shots. Best racquet ever.

This statement is so true.

For me, I started with the N90 when I picked up tennis last year and worked my way to the K90 just earlier this year. I do not regret it one bit. Sure, there were some aches and pains at first, but it definitely helped me develop proper technique and footwork in a short amount of time. I played other sports before so I guess I'm a fast learner. I just prefer the small headsizes. Never did like midplus or oversize because they always felt bulky for some reason.

I went from full synthetic (3 months) > full poly (5 months) > poly/synth hybrid (3 months) > finally, gut/poly hybrid (keeping this setup forever)

Now I am pain free.

I just picked up an Asian version by accident. My friend has the US version and when I used it, I loved it. I didn't realize there were multiple versions. Can someone tell me what the difference is in playability is between the Asian and US versions before I get this strung?

2nd reason: people think you are a 5.0 player (due to the buying recommendation)

count me into the club, i've tried every brand and every stick out there, you name it, i've tried it. and this is the best all around racket for my game. i'm hitting like never before. as for the feel...WOW! unparalleled. playing a national soon, gonna need this stick by my side to have a shot at playing my best. :)

I bought one completely on a whim today (it's nice to finally have some money!). Strung up with Technifibre Black Code 18g @ 53 lbs. I don't know if it'll replace my Donnay, but I can't wait to try.

I used them for a couple of months, solid frame, but with my heavy topspin game I prefer the APDC. I keep my K90's for a fun hit, or I often give them to my friends when we're having a friendly game, they're oblivious to the fact that they're a difficult frame to use if you're good a tennis, nevermind an occasional rec player without a racquet!

techhniccaly the k90 COULD be used for a heavy topspin game :D

Maybe.

You don't really have a choice with racquets like the APDC and PDR unless you string them really tight. The K90 is a flexible racquet - I find that it's good for moderate topspin and quite good for slice. The PDR feels like spin is its playground.

maybe if you had the bicep of the governor of california :)
Not a HEAVY topspin game put a decent amount of spin?

Yeah, my game improved rapidly when i started using this racket
I used to be a bit flat-footed but I've learnt to stay
on my toes so i can get into position in time......
otherwise the racket gives you what it deserves :P

> Federer uses heavy spin. Now wht do you think about that

How does his spin compare to Nadal or Roddick?

Count me in... i play with US K90...initially bought it just for collection, but it hit so well, i ditched my head prestiges

Same here, just switched over to the K90 from the Prestige. Main reason for the switch is because I'm now down to only 1 Prestige and can't find any more in a 5/8. I prefer the Prestige on serves, but I do everything else better with the K90. I'll stick with the K90 as long as I can still find them, it's just a great all-around racquet for me.

K90 with Natural Gut is better than an APDC with Xcel Poly strings for spin.

I compared the 2. I play with a western forehand grip, lots of spin, my game is based on making the opponent play the ball at shoulder height which many people can't do.

The K90 is better for spin when strung with Gut than the APDC with Poly. The APDC needs a hexagonal poly etc to improve spin.

I put MSV Hex in my APDC so there you go....spin machine
I'm not sure what a western grip is...?
I'm pretty sure it's the one with more spin and the Eastern is flatter?
Marshredder - What sticks do you use for matches?

I was just wondering seeing if anyone has a k sixone tour 5/8 grip with overgrip because of me being stupid. At the time I was a newbie about sticks got the biggest grip and I think thats why I cant play better or at least cant swing it easier. You know its harder to swing with a big grip unless you have a big arm.

I use L2 APDC's with Pro Hurricane Tour, great sticks, although I had to put a decent amount of lead tape on them to make them heavy like I like them.

A western grip... well. You know the continental grip is with the racquet vertical, and holding it like you're shaking hands? well the western grip is if the racquet is horizontal and you put your hand on it. Your index finger knuckle will be on the 5th bevel, gives you an extreme low to high forehand movement, loads of spin.

Currently using a US K90, just bought another one.

Using Wilson NXT 16 at 54 lbs in mains and Lux Adrenaline 17 in crossess at 50 lbs.
Also using string savers on the sweet spot, a la Federer.

Only played once with this string setup, i'm also going to try Signum pro megaforce and unique big hitter instead of Lux adrenaline in the crosses, and use NRG2 in the mains. I'm going to try all these combinations... Do you guys think I should try something else too? I'm trying to find the best hybrid setup that's not too expensive.

And I'm probly going to drop the tension a little bit, like 52 in the mains and 50 in the crosses since i use string savers

Sadly, mine is a backup racquet now. Its battered and bruised, but with a strung weight of 368g (yes, its ridiculous isnt it, even without lead tape) the K90 plows through balls, unlike the BLX90. Although BLX90 is easier to swing. Also the paint on the K90 is really glossy, not the normal matte finish. Its a mystery stick that is for sure.

Count me in as well

I've gone back and forth with this racquet for a few years and have now settled down with it after using or trying pretty much every mid available. Have found that about 4-5g of lead under the leather--at the collar-- and another 3g at 3 and 9 and 2g at 2 and 10 is ideal for me. The frame doesn't feel heavy at all even though it must be about 13.2 oz or so with overwrap, and it is a real weapon. The lead opens it up and it has great feel, a huge sweet spot, great directional control, is stable as can be and plays like an extension of my hand. No more demoing for me. Really. I've got one and have ordered three more, with two to four more to come over the next few months to keep me going over the next couple of years, anyway. Am going to use Tourna Silver 17 on the mains and Tourna Quasi Gut 17 on the crosses. Has anyone else tried Tourna string on their K90s or depolarized weighting like this?

Where are you ordering these from? They're no longer in production.
