Kick Serve in Deuce side.

Hello.

I'm getting a pretty good kick serve. But I can only serve it really good with good pace and kick in the advantage side. How to do it in deuce side? because i'm hitting alot with the frame, because I have to hit it from below going the right on the ball, to cause the kick .... and same time I have to hit it in TO THE LEFT!?... How to improve it? no frame hit please:D

thank you

On the deuce side you should not be hitting "to the left." A kick serve on the deuce side goes down the "T" in order to force the returner to hit a high backhand (assuming righthandedness).

I get ya point, but I want to be able to make a kick serve wide in deuce side... in order to mix up my serves.

Request!

COme on GUyS! somebody must be able to give me a hint.. though I think i got some kind of solution. But I would like to hear your opinions

Just a thought, but try adjusting your footing so your serve goes into another direction. I dunno if it'll work, but just a thought.

I used to have trouble hitting a good kicker on duece side. I finally found a trick to overcome this perception problem!

Look at the right net post and imagine a line between your feet and the right net post. Pretend the line is the baseline and just serve as you normally do on the ad court. Once you can "see" this imaginary baseline your kickers will be just as big and devasterating as the ones on the adcourt...

Remember, if you can hit any kick or twist serve in one direction, change your body position to make the same serve land in a different, desired direction.

Imagine this analogy: If you have a gun that shoots in the same direction each time you pull the trigger, if the target is moved to the right or left, you simply change the aim of the gun. (You don't go out and buy a different gun that shoots in some other direction to achieve this new desired target, right?)

Any serve can be directed to a different target through the adjustment of your stance and subsequent body position. The problem that most people have is they tend to adjust their body back to their normal stance for a particular side of the court...usually during the toss...so they defeat the action of changing to the new stance or position.

Does this help?

Stand right next to the T with a closed stance. Just make sure your back foot isn't too far or else its a centerline footfault. These are always fun kick serves to hit. :)

I suffer this problem at some time or other also. If I want to go down the tee on the DEUCE court off my kicker, I visualise hitting my kick serve down the middle of the ADVANTAGE box aiming slightly right to left for a right hander. This never fails and very quickly my kick serve is corrected and travels straight up the tee on the deuce court.

Without seeing you hit, my first guess would be toss position. (I think too far in front of / away from you, OR too far into the court. Let me know if it works!

My friend has a mean kick serve like your talking about. I'll ask him how he does it.

Hmmm, in my case, I feel more awkward when I try to hit a kick serve on Ad side (try to hit to the receiver's BH side of course). Do you have a trick for this too? TIA!

Uummmm... If you are right handed, your twist serve will travel right to left in the air, but bounce to the right (your right). This will make the ball jump wide on the ad side, but won't jump wide on the deuce side. That's what slice serves are for.
