Kimony Original Leather Grip

What’s up everyone. I’ve played with the Kimony Techni leather grips and they’re great but was wondering if anyone has played with the Kimony Orginal leather grip. If you have, what are your thoughts?

They’re pretty hard to find. I found one on Stringers World but I’ve never ordered anything from that site and don’t know how reliable they are.

SW is very reliable.

This. I've bought most of my tennis racquet stuff (strings, grips etc) from them. Make sure you get your first time buyer discount code too.

They're very thin. They really do reduce the grip size compared to other grips. Because of this, they are also pretty harsh on the hand. If you like sharp bevels though, they certainly give you that! Pretty light as well... about 10g from what I can remember. edit: Ignore that. I read your message the wrong way around.

Definitely a legit source.

Lol I was about to say...

And thanks. That’s reassuring.

Stringer’s world are good. I live in the U.K. and get lots of stuff from them. On the subject of the Kimonay Original Leather Grip, The black version seems a lot stiffer and less supple. Quite hard to put on. The tan version was perfect for me: nicely bevelled, soft and supple but not too slippery. It’s so nice I use it without an overgrip.

Thanks for the info! Tempted to purchase one now.

Does anyone know the weight of a Kimony Original Leather replacement grip?
Is this one just like a lot of other leather grips out there or is this one very specific as well, like the Techni? This one is 1.5mm thick so I'm expecting it to be just 'a leather grip' but with Kimony feel.

I ordered two tan ones off of Stringers World.

Out of the package, they come with double sided tape which you have to put on yourself first (so not yet attached to the grip), two tiny nails and the finishing tape.

Of the two grips I got, one weighs 24 grams and the other one 23 grams. This is untrimmed, without the double side tape etc. on.

Tonight I'll put them on my VCORE 95's but I can already tell they feel amazing. Very different to the more known leather grips. Very soft to the hand, nice texture. Very high quality product it looks like.

That's why I bought them. ;) Also ordered some Kimony Hi-Soft overgrips, 0.5mm thickness with it.

Let us know how many grams your Kimony Original leather grips weigh. Hopefully the differences are very small.
They have been sent today from the UK.

I wrapped one around one of my VCORE 95's. It stretches very well. The edges of the grip feel a bit vulnerable, I don't know how that will work for the durability of the grip.
Once it's completely wrapped, it feels really really nice. On the thinner side for a leather grip so you'll have to like that.

Unfortunately though, the weight of the grip was a bit too much, causing the balance to shift so much that I can't counterbalance that again while staying in my spec range. I don't want to go above a certain spec on my VCORE's.

So I'm going to use one instead on my Ultra Tour 2.0. Have an Ultra Pro V3 coming from winning a giveaway so might put the other one on that racket.

Instead of the Kimony Original Leather grips I put Yonex AC128EX Excel Pro Synthetic Leather grips on my VCORE's. Ordered those alongside the Kimony and they feel freaking good. Quality product.

Which one of the Hi-Soft overgrip did you mean? Interested to hear what you think of them.

I got the Kimony Hi-Soft Grip Tape (KGT131). A 3-pack. Haven't played yet but did put one on my racket. It feels amazing from what I can tell. Easy to put on, pretty wrinkle resistant but still soft and tacky. I think the durability will be really good, especially for a 0.5mm one but time will tell. I always use a roll of finishing tape but I decided to try the one that came with it. Really nice one, sticks well and looks pretty cool too.
