Kirschbaum Pro Line 2 Red vs black differences?

I always thought the difference was just cosmetic. Having said that, psychologically I always feel better with black.

Can anyone validate Pro's Pro (BigT tennis') claim regarding Vendetta being/playing about the same as PL2?

I've always kept the blaclk PL2 on hand and my "customers" never complain.....something about black string....

I feel like the red plays softer. I bought the black reel and am regretting it. Thought it was just cosmetic but I'm not so sure.

Both feel the same to me in the 18 gauge.

Black strings look good on almost all racquets. Red looks a tad weird on some coloured racquets like a Dunlop Bio 200 Lite or a Pure Drive, but great on 'red' racquets.

I bought the string last year and wrote the shop asking the same question.

They responded that it was only cosmetic and that the string is the same.

I'm resuming this tread because my shoulder was and it is still sore after playing with the Proline 2 black 1.25 full bed...
Anymone has experienced the same.

I think there is something to be said about the color of the string affecting its characteristics. Never played with Pros Pro but the TW playtesters have noticed differences in strings like ALU Power, silver vs ice, and others. I have noticed differences between black and non black versions, as well as silver.

I agree. I played with Kirschbaum Pro Line 2 red and black. The black version is softer but also more fragile. I prefer the red version but i can't deny i wanted to have a reel of black Kirschbaum just because it looks cooler.

Me too! Had it strung in my LM Rad MP at 47 and cut it out after 3rd outing.
Restrung with Tourna BHS 17, won't try Proline again. Way too harsh for my arm!

I've never tried the red, although I'd like to. PL II has been one of the softer/ more springy strings that I've used. No arm problems whatsoever.

Use a thinner gauge?… Pro Line II 1.20 and 1.15 are great in a frame such as yours IMO.

I put a full bed of Pro Line II in an 18x20 and strings locked up after five minutes. The string feels really gummy and going to cut out the crosses and put in a slick poly. Anyone else notice full beds of this string getting too sticky?

I fixed the issue by hybriding with the proline evo 16G in the cross . It’s a softer version of the proline 2 in red .

Proline II works great as a cross with gut mains. Have never tried that in the mains. I prefer the feel of red color overall. Black is too muted to my liking.
