Knot slipping through grommet (Yonex RDS 001)

Hey everyone, this is my first post on this forum.

First of all, im a fairly experienced stringer, having strung about 1000 racquets. However, I've got a problem stringing the Yonex RDS 001 midsize with the Yonex though brid string. (see link) http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageACYONEX-TG130TB.html

It's happened twice now that the ending knot for the crosses slips through the grommet after a few hours of play. The first time I used the half hitch knot with a tail (pro knot) to finish the crosses but it slipped through the grommet after some time (I don't know after how many hours because it's not my racquet). So I strung it again this time finishing the crosses with a double half hitch knot and after like 4 hours of play it slipped again.

The problem I noticed is that the tie off holes in this racquet are pretty big and the string that I use in the cross is very soft. Those 2 factors combined makes the knot to slip through the grommet. Or could it also be because I made the knots too compact by pulling too hard?. Also note that I strung the crosses from top to bottom, so the knot that is slipping is the bottom one.

I thought about trying the starting knot to finish the crosses (maybe it wouldn't slip) or doing a triple half hitch knot even though that would be pretty ugly...

Any thoughts?

Try taking a scrap piece, about 1 in. long, and put it behind your knot while you are tightening it. then trim it down to a more unnoticable length. It's not pretty but it should take care of your problem.

Try 6-8 mm. What may be happening is that your excess string is slipping through the knot giving it abo****ely no chance of holding on. I know that the frame is rather thin so excess string sticks out more, but 6-8mm should leave you with a knot that is still good-looking, given that you have a whole 1 cm to work with before the string "sticks out."

don't use a starting knot, there will be a gigantic loss of tension (by design, a starting knot cinches up with back tension).

You could try tying your first half hitch, and then reversing the direction of the second. This can maaaaybe allow it to rest against the frame a little more, and help it not get sucked in.
