Kps 88

Bought a good, used kps 88 from one of the seller's on this message board...just wondering if there's a difference is grip shape vs. the other wilson racquets? I use a k90/blx 90 w/a 4.5 grip size and the bevels are much more defined...the kps 88 has somewhat rounded bevels, different dimensions all together and feels a touch smaller than 4.5...? Kinda bothered by this, like the grip/feel to be uniform.

Since this racket was designed by and for Pete Sampras, and Sampras definitely had a lot of pallet work done on his racket in the past, and since I have played with the n90, K90, KPS88, and BLX90, I can say with confidence that they definitely used a different pallet for the KPS88 then they did for the other three. Wilson quality control had nothing to do with it.

From my perspective - yes, the 88 has a more rounded pallet than the K90, n90, K95. It is not quality control... as all 4 of my 88's are the same.

I struggle a little bit with the issue, but in the end, it's really not that much difference.

As usual, Wilson's quality control is crap...

Their variances are within reason. Other racquet brands have just as bad/good quality control. Only reason Wilson has more of a reputation is because they sell much more racquets than all the other manufacturers.

BTW, all my 88's feel identical. Guess I'm just one of the lucky ones out of the millions.

Interesting. I felt like my KPS88 (I have 3) pallet is bigger and has more defined edges vs. my K90. I picked up my PS85 and it feels similar in shape except for the end. It seems the the grip on both the PS85 and KPS88 just feels 'thicker' whereas my K90s fell slighter and thus I can whip the racquet more easily.
