I've been wearing various Nike Vapor and Nike Prestiges for a while. Presitges were wide enough to get by but with those gone I went to the Nike Vapor Pro. Overall good shoe but a little too tight in the toe box--one pair broke in after a while, the other is taking forever. So I decided to give KSwiss a try since they were known for their wider toe boxes. I was worried they'd be too cushioned and slow.
I got a pair of Hypercourt Supremes and a pair of Hypercourt Expresses. I'm amazed how overall comfortable they are while still have a good secure fit. Don't feel much heavier than the Vapor Pro, and I actually think I move better in the KSwisses. Maybe my feet are more free?
The Supremes have an ankle liner and the Expresses seem to have more arch support (feels almost like an insert has been added, even though I didn't put one in.
With these, I haven't been wearing my Superfeet insert which I added years ago due to some Achille's strain and plantar fasciaitis. I think the added comfort and room has gotten rid of the need for an insert, but of course will add one in if I see any signs of pain/inflammation. IN the past if I went a day or two without inserts my PF would be back. Not the case so far after about 3 weeks in KSwiss.
So after all that jabber, I have one problem. On my left medial malleolus at bottom (where your ankle ends on the inside of the lower leg) the top of the shoe is stiff and rubs there. Doesn't bother my right at all. More troublesome with the Express, and barely noticeable with the Supreme (but present until I mess around with the shoe and then it goes away).
Any ideas how to fix the Express so it is more comfortable? I've tried adjusting the tongue or trying to make sure the top of the shoe in the right position. But it just gets out of place and can be jarring when it happens. Today I undid the top most eyelets and it seemed better and still the heel seemed to stay in place. Any other ideas how to fix so I can use all the eyelets?
