in case anyone missed this earth shattering event at Eastbourne, a rare example of a young player winning an actual match.

his world rank is around 440 I think, also he has a wildcard to be in Wimbledon 1st rd.

winning his first tour-level match on grass is rather a promising thing... attack-oriented game, maybe ? :) (1HBH or 2HBH ?)
i just hope it won't turn out to be another murray (this one also won his 1st tour-level match on grass, didn't he ?).

would be nice if he took out the 2nd seed in his next match... :)

great that he got a WC for wimbledon, btw... should we add him to the list of the dangerous floaters ? ;)
(let's wait for the simon match to be played, maybe...)

Is winning the first ATP match at 18 now worth an own thread?

gasquet won his first match at Age 15 and was in the top100 at Age 17. nadal beat Peak federer on hardcourt at Age 17.

they always say Tennis has changed but if gasquet and nadal could do it in the mid 00s (not Stone Age) there is no reason why Players shouldn't be able to do it today.

Edmund is donating half of his prize money to a cancer charity, so perhaps it won't just be Brits supporting him this week.

Off the top of my head, the only other teens with noteworthy wins recently have been Jiri Vesely and Nick Kyrgios. Vesely has a good chance of making it through Wimbledon qualifying, but Kyrgios doesn't appear to have entered the senior event. What with Edmund having so few of his peers around him at SW19, we might as well illuminate his talent now in case he wins a match or two and someone inevitably posts, "What the hell? I've never heard of this guy."

I didn't miss it. C'mon Kyle - lets hope he has a good future as a pro player and can build on his success at junior level.

I have not seen anything apart from one service game , I noticed a forehand with some action on it..but I was busy and only saw a few shots..someone else poasting watched him I think ??

dangerous floater for wimby ??, maybe, maybe not; why not though..lets be wild.

Edmund lost a tight match 7-6, 7-6 to Gillian simone,

good forehand, decent serve, 2hbh, good retrieving at back of court , ufe let him down a bit..good effort though.

vamos.
