Kyrgios facing ban

I see that the lynch mob is already here, so, let's make a little experiment: whoever wants to address me first needs to answer this simple question with a "yes" or "no" answer: is the ATP corrupt in your opinion?

The ATP has been rigging draws for at least 6-8 years now, I can't imagine anyone denying that at this point. Rigging draws is the epitome of corruption, so of course Nick was right. But the Nick hate oozes from every pore from many here. He could cure cancer and they'd b-tch he didn't cure diabetes or heart disease: "the untalented punk is too lazy to cure those too, so sod off!"

It's amusing that the two most fanatic Rafa "devotees" here still are butthurt over Wimbledon 2014. Lingering Nick hate, or maybe renewed hate since he beat Rafa in Acapulco this year too.
Erm didnt Nadal school Kyrgios at wimbledon this year....oh hang on...you the poster that says Kyrgios is white.....BAHAHA

You gotta admit, everything has been thrown at Nick on TTW, but claiming he won't be suspended because of "racism" is a new hilarity.
U have it wrong way round hun. Kyrgios wont be suspended because of fear he plays the race card. In these PC times Kyrgios has a get out of jail free card every time.

Incompetence means that they don't know what they are doing, so you might want to reconsider your position. They know pretty well how and why they work with the system they have in place. It is everywhere. Seeds, privileges, nepotism, WCs, tolerating of rule abuse, accommodation of special needs. The works.

honestly would it not prove their point if he is going to get banned for making th ecomment about how they are corrupt (by the way are) but they were mulling over their decision when it comes to his other antics?

The ATP is not corrupt. And Krygios is in no position to know either way. He lacks all self-control, as does most of the rest of his family. He just emotes without thinking.

I actually want this ban to go through, not because I dislike Kyrgios (I don't) but because I really want to see ATP shoot themselves in the foot like the retards that they are. **** them, they don't deserve the sport to survive Fedalovic

i wouldn't say its clean either. to pretend that the ATP isnt shady, doesnt have conflict of interest etc thats laughable. It more or less consists of deals between media companies and management companies with ATP directors benefiting from these contracts??

Corruption at some level is inevitable in organisations, but corruption has to be more than this or otherwise it's the accusers who are laughable.

okay.....lol. i like how since its inevitable, that means it cant be called or addressed. . honestly should he have said it no, but also there is no doubt teh ATP has ton of issues, double standards being one of them.

'Calling' something is just emoting without facts or argument.

This is exactly what Krygios did before he backtracked.

Now corruption just means 'they're picking on me' for him.

i believe he warrants a lot of criticism but honestly i do think the media latches on to him as well and i see the arm chair psychologists are now out too. i find it funny that nearly knocking out someones eye or calling for a place to be bombed were worth a much smaller fine than a "lewd" gesture but hey w/e. tell me you honestly think the ATP is consistent in how they assess the rules. now if you think nick isnt the one to talk about it fine but to pretend there isnt an issue there....i cant

i see you dont believe in calling out things but okay. i actually didnt read it that way.

There is freedom of speech for sure, but go call your boss corrupt and let me know how long before they let you go. You can say what you want and while it is legal, that doesn't mean it is without consequences.

THE ATP IS NOT HIS BOSS. THE ATP IS SUPPOSED TO WORK ON HIS BEHALF NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. The ATP is the closest thing the players have to a union.

Nick is sounding more and more like Serena.

Nick got fined roughly the same amount that Serena did for threatening to shove a tennis ball down a lineswomans throat. Nicks outburst not as bad as Serenas.

why are we bringing serena into this now? i swear people cant do anything without bringing serena at all. also lol you still here after your embarrassing prediction about dopavova beating serena?

Is this called 'filling stadiums':

Yep. He might be cool to all the teen-aged boys posting here, but to me and many other more mature tennis watchers I know (who can afford to by cars and Rolex watches the advertisers are pushing), he is disgusting. When he is playing, I refuse to even watch him. I'll check the scores to see if he's lost, but not much more.

I didnt follow his entire tirade, but just for saying the ATP is corrupt is, IMO, not a bannable offense. On-court antics however could be. It's just a matter of time however. He wont change - he gets too much of the attention he craves from being an idiot. In the end, I dont care how it happens, I just want him gone from tennis.

Not even close. You can count Serena's tirades on 1 hand. With Nick, it's pretty much every time he steps on the court.

Honestly if you think a clearly hyperbolic 'threat' of shoving a ball down someone's throat (like, get real, you actually think she was going to run up, grab the woman, and force a tennis ball down her throat in front of millions of viewers? grow up) is worse than acting like a jackass and dropping the f-bomb every other word week in and week out, then it's clear that "you are a hater - you're unattractive inside."

The ATP is not even close to a union. The players have an advisory role on how the business is run. Mitbestimmung comes to mind, but it's not the same thing.

LOL. Count Serena's tirades on one hand? Maybe if that's all you have. Have you ever noticed Serena is never compared to other women on tour? Her poor behavior and sportsmanship is always compared against the men. I wonder why? Because the women have more sense. They're both a-holes in the court. Two peas in a pod. But at least Nick is honest about being one. Serena is in deep deep denial.

There is no way they will ban him for any significant amount of time for the "corrupt" remarks.
A slap on the wrist at most. If he does it again, possibly a one year ban. Third time maybe lifetime ban.

Nick Kyrgios could be banned for up to three years and fined as much as $100,000 after he accused the ATP, the governors of the men's tour, of being “corrupt”. The Australian world No 30 lashed out at the ATP following his US Open first-round win over Steve Johnson in the early hours of Wednesday morning.4 hours ago

Kyrgios is an extremely immature “man”. He can’t handle criticism yet dishes it out at free will. His criticism of Nadal, Djokovic and Verdasco was wrong on so many levels. That stunt he pulled with the Djokovic t shirt was mind boggling. He obviously has a massive chip on his shoulder.

It has nothing to do with mental illness.
He has never been properly disciplined by his parents. His mother defended him with the whole Wawrinka incident and his brother has made disparaging remarks about Vekic, Wawrinka as well as Nadal via radio and social media. Something wrong with that family.

No doubt the likes of McEnroe, Nastase and Connors got up to no good on the court. But the major differences are that those guys left it on the court most of, if not all of the time and they actually won big titles.

Minimum 12 month ban and an additional $250,000 fine for Kyrgios.

Kyrgios is not all that popular. Don't go by posts/threads on this forum. The average casual fan tunes only into the last few rounds of a slam. No wonder a guy like Wawrinka is far more known in Asia than someone like Kyrgios. If Kyrgios were really interested in making an impact, he should first have the reach and influence. That can happen only through consistency. In places with large populations like China or India, the big three are super popular, not Kyrgios. If I ask any of my friends or family circles, I doubt anyone knows Kyrgios. He needs to win more. Simple as that.

As for calling anyone anything, that's between him and the ATP. The ATP knows what to do with him and Kyrgios is an adult. I wish he did not retract if he were really serious about his slander. All his big talk seems to have fizzled out the moment he issued an explanation.

Please go ahead and list the others that I'm missing. how many fingers do you have?

Not defending Serena at all - i don't particularly care for her as a person. But you are so full of crap constantly bringing up her "death threat" at every chance. How about you just look at things objectively for once? You can dislike a player and vocalize that rationally rather than just spewing garbage.

Speaking of comparing her to other female players, i think it's hilarious how people constantly bring up Serena's bad attitude but are silent in regards to Capriati's boarish behavior on court. I've never seen someone whine and complain about calls and act like a pompous brat quite as often as JCap (except maybe Wozniacki) yet she seems to get nothing but love. Why not condemn her poor behavior? Maybe you're just a dedicated Serena hater and put your blinders up for everyone else.

Serena is not in denial. America is in denial, if anyone. She is the greatest of all time, so her faults are seen as excusable.

Krygios has not exactly over-achieved and behaves far worse. Moreover his behaviour is rather deep-rooted in his psyche.

Agree with everything else except for that part highlighted above.
