Kyrgios facing ban

Please go ahead and list the others that I'm missing. how many fingers do you have?

Not defending Serena at all - i don't particularly care for her as a person. But you are so full of crap constantly bringing up her "death threat" at every chance. How about you just look at things objectively for once? You can dislike a player and vocalize that rationally rather than just spewing garbage.

Speaking of comparing her to other female players, i think it's hilarious how people constantly bring up Serena's bad attitude but are silent in regards to Capriati's boarish behavior on court. I've never seen someone whine and complain about calls and act like a pompous brat quite as often as JCap (except maybe Wozniacki) yet she seems to get nothing but love. Why not condemn her poor behavior? Maybe you're just a dedicated Serena hater and put your blinders up for everyone else.

I explained my rationale. I can't help it you choose to ignore it to flame. You 're comparing Serena's threatening behaviors, tanrums, racquet smashing, panic room dashing, and Wimbledon's doubles stumblin fumblin and bumblin... to Capriatis "boarish" behavior on court? No contest. Serena beats Capriati with bakery products in that department. If all professional tennis players could behave and show true sportsmanship,.like Fed, Nadal, Evert, Navratilova, and Sugarpova...then the sport would be much better off.

I notice you haven't listed any other Serena tirades even after scoffing at my remark that you could count them on 1 hand.

Again the fact that you actually took Serena's "threat" at face value and regurgitate it to try and prove some point while brushing off Capriati's horrid behavior makes your intentions pretty clear.

If you're going to be a troll at least be entertaining. Your act is stale.

Serena is not in denial. America is in denial, if anyone. She is the greatest of all time, so her faults are seen as excusable.

Krygios has not exactly over-achieved and behaves far worse. Moreover his behaviour is rather deep-rooted in his psyche.

Her faults are inexcusable ignored. Serena being "one of the greatest" not the only reason. Serena is a great tennis player. But, a role model for young ladies, of any color, she isnt.

LOL I am conflicted on this jack ass Sunny. You might be right tho. Connors took the game seriously. Nick not so much.

Sword ... If this jack ass had 1/8 the talent or court presence of Connors, I'd perhaps bother to watch a point or 2 of his ... assuming there was a curfew with nothing else to do!

.....ok but no one here was claiming she was a role model. this thread was about Kyrgios's bad behavior and you decided to bring Serena into it. why might that be?

I have no idea who you are...Tonya. First I've seen of your posts. I'm flattered you remember my fair and balanced reports on Serena. Of course you only focus on the negative, and not any of the many positive remarks I've made on Serena in the past. Don't like it? Move along.

Tanya ... look, Serena has done some questionable things on the court and she really should have known better. But of one thing there is no doubt ... she is well and truly a colossus of the game! Someone whose transgressions will likely be forgotten with time but whose accomplishments will be talked about for as long as there's women's tennis.

Kyrgios on the other hand, is nothing more than a w*anker who has to resort to crass and utterly disgraceful behavior to garner attention. Imagine what would happen if he were on his best behavior? There wouldn't be more than a whisper about him or his game!

Whoever compared Serena to Kyrgios really needs to get himself examined.

You mean the player who was banned from her profession for failing a drug test? Oh yes she is a pristine example of how to represent tennis. Also, Capriati was one of the worst sportswomen I have ever seen and had one of the worst track records off court to match it. You have serious issues.

This is the double standard Kyrgios is speaking of. Everyone should have a level playing field, regardless if you have won 10 majors or if your a qualifier. His behavior garners attention for a sport that is in need of it. Apart from the top 3, Kyrgios is really the draw of the tourneys and his talent is unquestionable. It’s his antics that everyone is talking about but the guy can play.

Don't play dumb. I would be writing for over an hour. 3 tirades? LOL. Serena had 3 alone in the last U.S Open.
I'm dying to know what you consider a tirade.... you must be a pretty sensitive individual if her behavior offends you so much as to consider it a tirade outside of the 3 I mentioned.

don't worry - big bad Serena can't get you through the TV.

People arguing Kyrgios should be able to do as he wants and get away with it cause he fills the stadium are probably also of the opinion Trump should be able to shoot somebody on 5th avenue and remain president.

But then people don't usually adhere to any sort of consistency
I'm surprised it took this long for someone to point it out. What on earth does the debate about Nick' popularity have to to do with the fact that he denigrated the governing body and brought the game into disrepute? The guy is an imbecile. If a ban is coming, he will have deserved every second of it.

LOL... triggered.

What's you source for this?-- ''News articles mentioning Djokovic are higher than any other ATP player." I guess you're restricting this "coverage" to Belgrade. :-D

Yeah I don't know what he's smoking there. You can be a fan of Djokovic all you want but to begin to even suggest that he's as popular as Roger or that he gets talked about as much is just delusional.

That tweet sounds like it was written by his lawyer.
:-D
Definitely not written or thought out by him--damage control by his PR team--it's evident that the end of his antics is nigh near--car-wash job around the corner. Question is can kwazy nikki muster up any self-control, or will some minor irritation like a fan walking around trigger him?

...there's currently more Nick threads here than about any of the big 3. This again proves my point: he's more interesting than anybody else out there, results or not.
Train wrecks make headlines--trains arriving safely on time do not. Kwazy Nikki brings in the soccer hooligan crowd, Noli, Rafa, and RFed fans are there for the tennis with style.

Absolutely love the retreating statement he has made because he's finally realised he went too far but i have to also have to sarcastically love the fact it took them this long. Insulting umpires, being rude to the crowd, constantly swearing and tanking is fine and good to get attention for the sport but one casual reference to how the ATP is possibly corrupt and a swift ban action happens. Really does reveal where the priorities are in tennis.
Don't go up against power and money unless you have just as much power and money...

The last thing the ATP wants to do is ban the biggest draw, outside Rog & Rafa, in the sport.
Kyrgios attracts more viewers than Djoker? Nonsense. Djoker has many more fans than Nick the Dick, much more followers on social networks, and as some TW members have shown, the auditorium at Nick's matches are not full.

40love ... if anything, the highlighted remark of yours is questionable! :)

If he does attract people, it's for his antics more than anything. Talent? I don't see much. In any case, talent is worthless if it doesn't win you anything. Russell once told me, a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush! :)

Nick Kyrgios facing ban after calling ATP ‘pretty corrupt’ at the US Open

George Bellshaw
Wednesday 28 Aug 2019 5:45 pm

Nick Kyrgios has landed himself in more hot water after his first-round US Open win and could face a suspension from the ATP Tour. The Aussie accused the ATP – the governing body of men’s tennis – of being ‘pretty corrupt’ after he was slapped with a $113,000 fine following a major meltdown in Cincinnati, in which he clashed with umpire Fergus Murphy. Against world No. 9 Karen Khachanov at the Masters 1000 event, Kyrgios called Murphy ‘the worst f***ing referee ever’, saying he was ‘doing some stupid s**t every time I play’, while he left the court without authorisation in order to smash two racquets. On his way off the court, he spat in the direction of the umpire’s chair and called him a ‘f***ing tool’. Asked for his thoughts on the fine after his first-round US Open win against Steve Johnson, Kyrgios said: ‘The ATP is pretty corrupt anyway. I’m not fussed about it at all.’

The great irony: he is right, but for all the wrong reasons.

ATP is corrupt but not because they're out to get Nick. They're corrupt because they allow draw rigging and doping.

Kyrios is Right. and he also has right to free speech. but he shouldn't insult others by using swear words, that is wrong but certainly doesn't deserve a ban. Nick needs win a Major and he can do all the bad boy routine he wants. this is just too premateur

There is no soccer hooligan crowd in tennis, except for a small one at the AO, and that one is more focused on old national rivalries than guys like Kyrgios.

Kyrgios is an extremely immature “man”. He can’t handle criticism yet dishes it out at free will. His criticism of Nadal, Djokovic and Verdasco was wrong on so many levels. That stunt he pulled with the Djokovic t shirt was mind boggling. He obviously has a massive chip on his shoulder.

It has nothing to do with mental illness.
He has never been properly disciplined by his parents. His mother defended him with the whole Wawrinka incident and his brother has made disparaging remarks about Vekic, Wawrinka as well as Nadal via radio and social media. Something wrong with that family.

No doubt the likes of McEnroe, Nastase and Connors got up to no good on the court. But the major differences are that those guys left it on the court most of, if not all of the time and they actually won big titles.

Minimum 12 month ban and an additional $250,000 fine for Kyrgios.
Whether it's mental illness or he's just a jerk almost doesn't matter IMO. He's no less responsible for his actions than any other human being is. Being able to box your characteristics into a definition of some sort seems to make people believe he's a victim or something. Wrong. People who suffer from mental illness often blame themself for their problems (which can start a vicious cycle of more depression) whilst Nick blames everyone in his vicinity and surroundings BUT himself.

Since English is your second language, you may want to look up the word "hyperbole", and add it to your new vocabulary, I do understand that you are very young, if you don't know how to use a dictionary yet, you may want to ask for some help from your teacher now that summer vacation is over and it's back to school--so sad.

That does not bother me really. Things that bother me are usually the hypocrazy and hypotheticals and incessant whining. Lol.
Now liking nick is bit more involved. I like some of his antics like the nut flick thing whatever the hell that is and the dancing. In general tho he is a lout and he aint giving no FU or finger to the establishment. He is a part of this ****ty world. He aint going against any grain. Connors played the independent circuit and truly was a tennis rebel even if he was a boorish lout at times.

I don't understand what you response means, but please let your next post contain the info I am asking about. If you don't have it your point of comparing Connors's situation with St Nicky's is a kind of useless.

Well nicky is considered a tennis rebel around here so i am comparing him with a player that did some rebelling. What do you want me to do? Nick should go start his own tour if he hates tennis so much or get the hell out of the sport.

Can't understand that logic. You want more examples, but what sort of person would intentionally look for examples of someone else's bad behaviour, unless they are paid for it? A shallow hater, like a pig looking for dirt. The fact that even those who don't care for SW's bio can name several examples speaks volumes to how egregious they were.

It is nothing compared to soccer. You need to have street parties and fights starting days before a match and escalating into the crowd during the actual match, and then fights afterwards.

The USO crowd is a wannabe.

Moreover, these days security is so tight that only fake enthusiasm is possible.

Even tennis Davis Cup crowds are nothing compared to soccer.
