Kyrgios facing ban

Omala, haven't had time to read every post but did someone really claim Kyrgios attracts more viewers than Djokovic?

Otha, next that person will be telling us the Spice Girls have better music sense than Eric Clapton!
My post #227 is a response to @The Safinator, who claims, that Kyrgios is 'the biggest draw, outside Rog & Rafa, in the sport.' It logically follows that he ranks Nick over Djoker. Also @BeatlesFan in another thread she claimed (https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?goto/post&id=13615097), that Nick raises more interested than any tennis player except Fed and Rafa. Both assert unfounded assumptions, Djoker has a lot more followers at social networks than Kyrgios, Djoker's name is much more coveted on Google than Nick's, and Nick doesn't fill stadiums.

Thank you for the details, Enceladus ... it tells me all I need to know about the tennis knowledge, or dare I say general intelligence, of both Safinator and BeatlesFan!

What about Nick's friend, the Kokk? Haven't heard of him in a while.

The less said about either of them, the better!

Suresh bhai, what is your view of some Federer fans claiming Kyrgios attracts more people to tennis than Djokovic?

Incompetence means that they don't know what they are doing, so you might want to reconsider your position. They know pretty well how and why they work with the system they have in place. It is everywhere. Seeds, privileges, nepotism, WCs, tolerating of rule abuse, accommodation of special needs. The works.

Nepotism? Its a nice sounding word but again is there any evidence?

Serena is not in denial. America is in denial, if anyone. She is the greatest of all time, so her faults are seen as excusable.

Krygios has not exactly over-achieved and behaves far worse. Moreover his behaviour is rather deep-rooted in his psyche.
I'd say their behavious is at about the same level. And Serena's is also deep rooted in her psyche.

The reaction to Serena's behaviour is deep-rooted in the American psyche, whereas Krygios' behaviour is usually seen as an extreme example of unruly youth.

What bothers me the most it that ATP issues such a big fine for his behaviour but then keeps on promoting him constantly on social media
It's like their account is runned by him, they promote him more than the Big 3.
He's basically a pot of gold for them, either from fines or from selling tickets. They couldn't care less about ethics.
Hypocrisy at its best, money talks...

Good chance you are right. He’s greatly physically gifted and has natural touch. But as long as he goes the way he is now he’ll never win any slam.
We all saw that the way he played at Cincinnati recently and lost to that guy. Why did he use a tweener instead of forehand as he had time to set it up for winner but he didn’t. That was a turning point.

Define what is talent to Kgyrios?

He will never will any grand slam at all... ever.

This is Nick's golden opportunity to show that he can go deep into a slam and challenge Big Three in the SF and Finals.
The draw is incredibly weak. He has the physical talent. Hope he can do it but would not be surprised to see him flame out. Yet again.
He has never shown the mental ability to string together 7 straight wins.
But maybe all this adversity and threat of banishment will finally motivate his ass.

I've never seen a packed out main stadium for Kyrgios except he's playing one of the Big 3.

40love ... if anything, the highlighted remark of yours is questionable! :)

If he does attract people, it's for his antics more than anything. Talent? I don't see much. In any case, talent is worthless if it doesn't win you anything. Russell once told me, a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush! :)

He beat Nadal on route to mexican open championship and Medvedev in a final this year ?? But he has no talent?? Cmon dude, you may not like him but the US open is packed when he is on court and he is hitting 140mph bombs, smashing FHs and expectional volleys. What are u even talking about man

To the poster talking rubbish to me, Kyrgios has won 2 ATP tournaments this year. You prefer the great Thiem winning 250s???
Absolute rubbish talk

Kyrgios has backed himself into a corner and doesn't seem to have people around him who can advise him how to get out gracefully. His player's box looks like a tool shed full of rejects rather than trusted advisers.

It's true that he is a target, particularly for Fergus Murphy, but he has made and continues to make himself an easy one. His behaviour is worse than Serena, but he can't get away with things the way she can.

I hope he can change the way he goes about conducting himself and if a ban for the rest of year provides the opportunity to do so, then it could be a good thing for him. Of course, he could just have a big cry and never come back .. which a lot of people would think is great. I'm not one of them.

40love ... I wonder where Dustin Brown & Steve Darcis are these days? :) Beating Nadal is great but that is hardly an indicator of greater things.

I'm afraid we're simply going to have to agree to disagree. Sorry! :)

Calling the ATP leadership "corrupt" should not lead to a suspension or ban.
We still have freedom of speech last I checked.
He has his freedom of speech which is why he is free to say whatever he wants. Though the ATP are also free to ban him should they find his comment disruptive.

Freedom of speech doesn't get him locked up by the states, the ATP on the other hand are free to handle and conduct their rulings however they want. People still confusing freedom of speech with something else.

I don't know what that has to do with your previous question, but to that new question there were informations in the not so distant past that certain players and their teams demanded slower higher bouncing conditions at the USO. Who those players were was never revealed, but we can extrapolate from the previous experience who that sort of change might benefit.

Evidence please.....

Informations? Hmm. Your post is proof that Fed devotees have a habit of generating fictional 'informations'.

Those guys have a combined 2 singles titles all time. Kyrgios has won 2 this year ? Not to mention in Mexican open, Kyrgios beat Nadal, Wawrinka, Isner and Zverev. What are you even talking about ??????

I didn't mind Nick until he spat on the ref.
6 months to a years' ban would be good for tennis and for Nick. If he loves tennis, he will appreciate what he's missing and come back with a more positive attitude. If he doesn't care, then I wouldn't care for someone who doesn't love or care for the game of fans.
Fines mean nothing to tennis players, especially high earners.
