IDK what to tell you Nick, there are a lot of clay tournaments in S America and Europe and they cant jam all of them right before Roland Garros. There is nothing wrong with having tournaments on different surfaces at the same time. You may not prefer to play clay over hardcourt but there are many players that do.

He shows so much disrespect to this sport. Imagine sledging a tournament with a stadium court named after Roy Emerson, a legend from Australia, and you yourself are Australian. My goodness. Some of these tournaments have been around for over 100 years and legends have won their 1st titles playing clay tournaments in this part of the year, when top players are resting and they have a chance to make a breakthrough and win their 1st title. Clay may not be your favorite surface but clay is tennis.

This is where he has the most chances to go deep. He still has a honorable level and ranking. He wasn't ridiculous against Nadal and Federer in Roland and Wimbledon. I would take Gasquet's tennis and his career over Kyrgios' in a heartbeat, if I could choose one.

Since when are 250s supposed to have elite draws. They are usually where players too good for challengers but not quite good enough to compete for the top titles (somewhere around Kyrgios’ ranking for example) to grind. Occasionally you’ll get top players warming up for bigger events but these caliber draws exist every year.

These tournaments have been played for years, decades and it’s just a problem now? At least they’re playing which is more than I can say for Nick. It’s Summer in Europe and it’s the dominant surface that the players grow up on...what else are they supposed to play on? I never paid attention to this part of the season because I used to not like clay at all. it’s still not my favorite surface. But players need to earn a living. It’s beyond obvious that a lot of so-called fans don’t seem to care about that.

The tournament in Poland (Gdnya or something like that) must be breaking records lol. I looked at the last 8 players in QF. 4 of them, I had NEVER heard the names until this week. 2 of them, I just discovered them last week in Prague and Lausanne (Zanevska and Parrizas). The last 2 their names are vaguely familiar but I've never seen them playing (Korpatsch and Kozlova) And I am a WTA fan. This is just tue weirdest draw I have ever seen.
