Kyrgios on court to Wawrinka: "Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend …"

He said it like he was talking to Stan while really he made sure that he wasn't heard. Stan will hear about it post match for sure tho

Wawrinka's not the sort of guy to just take that on the chin. I'm surprised Kyrgios had the balls or rather the indiscretion to say this. Can't seem to load the video though.

He said it in battle, big deal. Tennis could use a bit more of that fire. Look at the stuff Connors used to do and say.
ah ok, so being disrespectful to your opponent is fine because people used to do it in the past. thanks for that. Im sure you wouldnt mind if out of nowhere some guy you were playing said your mother was a fat and sleeps around.

love it, K got done on line calls at crucial times lost the replays, was rightly frustrated after same git stuffed 3 calls spot on the middle of the line.
K got cocky about Kokkis achievements, Im sure K wanted some action there but his charming mate got in instead.
Wawrinka had no right to tell K to stop letting off steam, thats the way he is, vocal and hot headed bid deal its spicy!

Does Stan really have a back problem? hard to believe

I actually can't stop laughing at the footage...just love how casually he drops it in! I have no doubt he will be dragged over the coals for it and justifiably it will only attract a whole new wave of criticism to him but I still find it funny!
Not sure how much it says about his character though....dropping his supposed "best mate" in the 5hit like that, bet Kokkinakas will be avoiding the locker room and players lounge at all costs now!

Stan is dating a frickin 19 year old girl as a 30 year old. He can and should take some S$@! for that.

I said this in the other thread but what the hell...

Who's Wawrinka's girlfriend, by the way? Didn't he dump his wife over her?

I find it even more disrespectful as Wawrinka is 10 years older and has been on tour for so long. Nope, it's not funny nor 'battle talk'. It's sheer stupidity.

spoken like a true old fart bitter about a grand slam winning athlete banging consenting, attractive young girls.
hot young women sleeping with successful athletes is a fact of life. maybe blame yourself for being unable to do this instead of being mad at a guy who is successful and reaping the rewards.

Krygios might want to watch what he says or he'll have a racket instead of his mohawk sticking out of his head.

I'm no athelete, but I am successful in my own way. I'm Stan's exact age and I would never ever entertain a relationship with a still teenage girl. That is creepy to me. Others may completely disagree.

Also, keep in mind that I would never say something like that to a person.

They're both of legal age are they not? I know plenty of people who are separated by a decade in age from their partners. I wouldn't judge any of them as creeps merely because of the company they keep.

Its bad what he said but damn he said that in such a casual tone it almost came off in a badass way. Give him props. Funny as hell but he really shouldn't be saying that. Ahh well. Atp needs a bit of drama at the moment.

We're not in Connors time. We're in the 21st century, where everyone overreacts to everything and looks for an excuse to have a chip on their shoulder. Rather than people saying "this was rude of Kyrgios". Instead they will proclaim him to be the anti-christ and that the ATP has a moral obligation to humanity to ban this ************ from the tour and levy fines against him to the brink of bankruptcy.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

As other posters have said...when back is turned and he says it "casually" as you put it, to the point where Stand probably doesn't even hear it, that's not being a badass. It's like a spoiled child saying something under his/her breath to a parent. Parent says "what did you say?" and child replies 'Nothing!"

He's getting way too cocky/arrogant for somebody that hasn't won a tournament yet (he hasn't yet, right?)

Its not about you, its about Stan not letting Kyrgios blow some steam which everyone knew he fully needed after the most crucial calls
ended up against him and not Stan. Stan like is old enough to just focus on what you do best and leave youngsters blow or destroy
themselves up rather than encourage them or have fuel their fire. Stan should have kicked back and let his racquet do the talking.

The umpire would step in if their arguments stepped up or Kyrgios needed to be reprimanded but Stan was in the wrong
and got a youthful response both personal and in the lower back ability.

Stan was wrong and retired pathetically so knowing he should have not fired up Kyrgios.

I don't think the success of a player has any correlation to the basic requirements for gentlemanly conduct. No apology can fix this one.
Players most the time are too happy about advancing, or even worried about their opponent if they are injured.

This is a new low, and it's not like it's one incident either. The kid has been talking smack for over a year now. Next time he runs into a top guy, they're going to rip right into him.

Yeah, exactly.

It also gives the top guys like Novak, Roger and Andy a huge incentive to shut his mouth by just white washing him. Talking smack just fires up your opponent if they're stable and mentally focused.

The way he said it wasn't badass...badass would be saying it to Wawrinka's face...the way he did it was cowardly...what he did was low-class and cowardly. Just a punk flinging his fences.
Yeah Connors would walk right up to his face and say it to him, I'd bet.
