Kyrgios Penalties

This is a PROFESSIONAL SPORT.

A lot of people around the world are watching this Professional Sport ... including millions of young people, many who aspire to be Professional Tennis Players one day.

Professional Sportspeople are not necessarily Role Models. However, they need to be Professional and seen to be Professional. This means respecting the Rules of the Sport, the competitors, the Officials, and the spectators.

Kyrgios is not being Professional. If he chooses not to be Professional, then he should be excluded from this particular Profession for a time deemed appropriate for him to realise that he should be behaving in a Professional manner.

And if he cannot do that ... do what many other people do ... Find another Profession !!!

Was the umpire "professional"?

It would be fabulous if NK wins the U.S. Open after all that has happen in Cincy!

Should be at least suspended from the USO but we know the ATP doesn't have the balls to do that

Or the power. It’s not an ATP event.

For the “Wawa incident” at the 2015 Rogers Cup he received a short time before the 2015 USO a 28 day suspension from ATP events but it would not take effect if he stayed out of trouble for 6 months so we never learned how the USTA/USO would handle his suspension.

The terms of his 2015 ATP suspension referred only to his not accumulating fines at ATP events. He made it through the 6 month “probation” so the suspension never went into effect.

This guy always has been a tool, and is frankly an embarrassment to our country

At least de Minaur can bring back some pride with his terrific attitude, even if less talented

Kyrgios combines sport with reality TV show. You watch a little bit of tennis combined with Jerry Springer/Jeremy Kyle show. The next stage could be introducing real life-sex in tennis matches. This would further increase number of people watching tennis and it could be good for the game.

ATP has become so desperate for a future ATG that it is crossing all limits to get one from somewhere. Sorry, Kyrgios is not going to be one, no matter how much you try. And future ATG just comes along and then you know it, not like you can make a ATG from a Clown like Kyrgios.

For those of you defending him, and I have done that myself, let me ask you this. If Kyrgios was your employee would he still have a job?

Honestly, I think the fine was too stiff. About 10% of this year's pay.

Kyrgios is not the employee of the ATP. Stop promoting that slave-owner like mentality anyways, it’s deeply offending.

They fined Serena $82 grand for calling a line person a thief and a liar. Nick did a little more than that for a set and a half, and left the court, and broke two racquets, and spit at the umpire, and, and..You start throwing the F-bomb out on the Tennis Channel or ESPN t’s not going to go well. Jim Courier was apologizing to the viewers.

I don't know why people defend this clown. He spends half his time whining and running around like a spoiled brat. He needs to get a vacation from the sport and either clean up his act or leave. Not interested in anything he does.

Behavior or not, it’s entertainment and a business. Kyrgios puts people in the seats, suspending him from the USO would be the dumbest thing they could do.

He has no redeeming qualities.

Would preserve the integrity of the sport. It is not the WWF or WWE. However, Nick is getting us there quickly throwing chairs, spitting on people, profanity toward the crowd, denigrating everyone involved including one of the greatest players that has ever lived on court and off court.

It's so funny to me how just two weeks ago we once again heard how he was growing up, was doing so much better on and off the court, was it finally all coming together for him?

Couple weeks later, and once again it's right back to normal again. :-D Looking forward to seeing how long the next Nico renaissance lasts.

I know! I really thought he was serious this time, and I was hopeful that maturity was infiltrating his psyche a bit. But, unfortunately, it was short lived...

Integrity of the sport was lost with McEnroe and look at him, he’s commentating now and his behavior is looked upon as “his thing”. If I’m running the ATP I want him on center court at every match. Not knowing what you’re gonna get from him is a great quality for an ENTERTAINER.

He should be removed from Laver Cup as well as a total ban for life from all ATP and ITF events. No one wants to see this stupid little troll baby anymore. Get rid of him!

Nick is a total disgrace to Australia, Tennis, Men (which is certainly is not one), and himself. He truly is a pathetic human being in need of serious professional mental help.

I’m quite sure the topic on the table for the ATP meetings today is not how do we put Nick front and center as our poster child.

JMac was the worst, but it was in a time when such behavior was in general condoned by society with a "boys will be boys" mentality. Physically too, JMac is a wimpy-looking character, while Kyrgios can easily beat up somebody real bad, and that adds to the problem. While JMac was looked upon as an irritating but harmless clown, Nick has a certain dangerous aura about him.

Nick dangerous? He is tall and has a terrible take-down defence. With a bit of side control he will tap out quicker than you can say “broooo”

Would you stand up for your employee, if his colleagues are stealing from him or would you help them in every possible way and fire him if he protests too much?

Unfortunately, most people would probably just cowardly stay out of it so their own image or standing within the company wouldn't be tainted. IMO more players need to stand up for the rule not being applied equally at all times.

What the hell are you talking about??? What's offensive is the picture in your icon--put a shirt on 'em
and get a room--troll.

Have any of you haters thought about taking a few deep breaths and sitting on posts for a while before submitting them? Kyrgios was bad and deserved a hefty fine but all these calls for suspension this, suspension that are just hilarious, especially from Djokodaleks. Is it all a bit painful that Kyrgios speaks the truth about cheats and boring players and is generating interest in the sport that your boys simply ain't...?

There’s a reason why so many nolefam and dull ****s are jumping up and down in this thread and drag Laver Cup and Fed in

Am I the only one who thinks he's an absolute legend? The guy is totally authentic and genuine. Doesn't put on an act for the cameras like Federer does. We must remember that Federer had huge anger issues earlier in his career and they clearly still surface now and then.

If only Kyrgious backed up his anger with some amazing results as well. Winning a grand slam would great.

Federer learned to control his anger, what a terrible role model,

As much as I like Nick, it's time to grow up some. Some of the things he does (like moving around like crazy when someone is serving) just annoy me.

i thought about it...i thought about it a lot...then, I spit in the direction of my keyboard, as the water bottle in my hand slipped out towards the direction of my massage chair...it was an accident...and my post got hatched...

Don't you think he goes overboard? I like him too, but you don't spit at someone you've been yelling at all night. Umpire was probably down in the dumps after that match.

51/50 nikki should never be allowed in possession of a boomerang.
