Too bad. My guess: the ban on naming/discussing junior players. Unfortunately, an event like the 'Zoo, with many prime-time players already committed to major colleges and several pro prospects, shows how the policy of not naming juniors simply prohibits some good discussion. The crazy dad(s) and alter-ego massage-therapists pretty much ruined this board for anyone sincerely interested in junior tennis.

GRANITECHIEF,

While your original post did not name any specific juniors, the subsequent posts had references to many junior players by name. Even though some of the juniors mentioned are going to college in the fall, there are many others that aren't and therefor violating our rule on discussing specific junior players. That is the reason why the thread was deleted.

Thank you for your understanding,

Brittany, TW

So we can't talk about the USA Junior Championship, the biggest junior tournament in our country, on a tennis message board.

Even when all the information is publicly available on the web, including a web cam. That is rather unfortunate. Or to quote a rather prominent tennis figure:

"You cannot be serious"

Just logged on looking for the thread, figured this is what happened. Maybe time to re-think that policy??? When is that one kid gonna age out of the jrs so we can possibly discuss jrs once again??

As it has been stated multiple times, in multiple places, by multiple Talk Tennis Representatives: we will ALWAYS err on the side of caution when it comes to the discussion of Junior players, no matter how prominently other websites and news outlets discuss this topic. Other websites and news outlets have it on their conscience to deal with this information as they see fit.

While we realize that it is disappointing that we cannot trust certain users to discuss junior players without posting potentially unsafe and compromising information regarding the player, we will not discuss this matter any further.

Any threads that result in the discussion of SPECIFIC junior players (especially personal information) are subject to be deleted and that is our final decision.
