Larry Scott:Women should play 5 setters in slams
Where did you read this?Larry Scott: "If Women earns the same prize money as Men.In Grandslam they should play 5 setters aswell.I think most the players wont mind".
What do y'all think?
Larry Scott was the CEO of the WTA Tour until about March of 2009. Now I think he is the commissioner of the Pacific-10 Collegiate ConferenceWho is this fool? Women simply can't play 5 setters.
Ex-WTA president.Who is this fool?
Of course they can. Before 2000 the YEC final used to be best of 5 sets.I think the slam finals should be best of 5 but not the whole tournament.Women simply can't play 5 setters.
But where did you read that from. Obviously, your quote isn't exactly the way it was said..Larry Scott: "If Women earns the same prize money as Men.In Grandslam they should play 5 setters aswell.I think most the players wont mind".

My quote is exact. He said that on ESPN when asked about the "equal pay" issue.Obviously, your quote isn't exactly the way it was said..
So it's okay for women to systematicaly get paid the same amount while doing less work?Ok that confirms that he is indeed a fool
That was one match per season and there is a reason they stopped that practice.
Women are simply physically incapable of playing 7 best of 5 matched in two weeks, and should not be forced to do that. It would be awful and torture for both players and audience.
Anyway this issue is settled. Women get equal money and that is fine with me. No need to start with this again IMO.

They already do, so we'd be watching her for 10 (or 15) hours when counting repeats. :evil:dont agree with this... women should play 2of 3 sets.. imagine if they show serena williams for 5 hours!!
You got it from TF.com. Here is the link to the article. You directly got your quote from the TF post. Nowhere in this article is anything quoted saying that they SHOULD play 5 sets. He says he doesn't think they will, and it's not the best direction for the sport going forward. All he says is that the players are open to it if that were decided.

Yeah.. Notice how after I quoted that, he never responded. He quoted the original post from TF.com. LOLAh.
Sounds like the OP was intentionally misleading in order to spark another thread full of mindless misogyny.
I don't understand why some of you think that women are incapable of playing best of 5 sets.
There are plenty of women who run marathons and ironman tri-athlons.
Sure, most WTA pros today do not train to go 5 sets, but that does not mean they can't train themselves to go the distance in the future.
Ah.

how about we stick with the best of 2 of 3 then wet T-shirt contest afterward?
