Hi,
I too have been waiting for my TT ECO since April.
My shipping cost was listed as $25 but of course distance will effect this cost.
Regarding some of the other posts/questions:
I placed a "reservation" not an order per se since that's all they required (no credit card info was given) late April.
Tim indicated they expected to receive the latest shipment the first week of June and it would ship then. At that
point I would need to confirm my order with payment info and had the right to cancel as well.
I confirmed it the first week (full) of June and was told it would ship later in the week. No deposit required and I
was not charged until it shipped (the law).
Lots of issues (excuses?) since then but it did ship (two boxes) last week.
Now I'm working through some missing/incorrect items (tools, weight, base) but I do have the machine (and the
extra string for the shipping mishaps).
Not to come to the complete defense of LF (since I'm still not up stringing yet) but I have been kept up to
date on the status (lots of phone calls/emails). Although it feels like I've been waiting 1 1/2 months, I went
it to it knowing it was going to be 4+ weeks from "order" to shipping.
All in all it's been about two weeks now working through this. Maybe that's
patience but I don't think I'm known for that
I will say this, (as have other people here) when you do get him he will explain whatever he needs to for as long as it takes.
I've had multiple 1hr calls with him going over the machine itself (prior to purchase) and stringing & assembly
all before I even had the machine. If he spends this much time on the phone with each customer I think I
understand why he's tough to get a hold of. I'm still going to have my 1hour "stringing lesson" when I actually start stringing
with it for the first time.
I liken this to hiring a contractor for working at your house. For those of you who have had this fortunate task
you know what I mean. Get them on the phone, get them to tell you when they're showing up, get them to
get started, and then get them to do what you want until it's done.
Is it worth it? I don't know but now that I've seen the machine I can tell you that there is not one piece of it
that looks like it was poorly designed or built. I also like the fact that I can call a real person (not a phone clerk) who knows the machine and will explain it to you. If the cost of this personal service is dealing with a small shop and their issues, then I think it is worth it in the long run. I hope I'm right.
