Laserfibre shipping cost?

I'm leaning towards buying a Laserfibre MS200TT-ECO with flying clamps later next month and then go for an upgrade towards the end of the year or so. To those who own a Laserfibre, how much did it cost you to have it shipped?

I think I was quoted $40. That was back in early April though, so my memory might be shakey. I still have no idea when I'll actually get my TT. Constant stream of excuses from Laserfibre, so be prepared to be very patient.

Waiting since April? Wow, what did LF CS tell you. Did you have to pay up front? I think I would buy another vendors product and give up on LF, pretty poor service.

Thanks for the reply, moist! So the shipping cost is the same as for Mutual Power Hercules 610 (my distant second choice).

I'm surprised by your predicament. I heard they had a problem last year or so shipping their stringing machines but I thought they had it squared away. The way I look at it is that it'll give me time to save up for an LF machine. ;)

Gee, I hope not. Personally, I don't mind waiting 4 weeks since I'm not a chronic string breaker. But beyond that and having paid up already, even I won't be that patient.

I'll probably give LF the benefit of the doubt since this is more of a supply problem. I'd be more critical if this kind of runaround happens after the purchase.

Hey moist, I hope you get your machine real soon!

Excuses such as shipping delays from customs, pallet fell over and packages need to be inspected, power outages, they didn't receive the proper weights, etc.

I had read all the threads about the problems, so I was somewhat prepared for it. I haven't been billed, and they have offered to send the free string even if I decide to cancel. I'll stick it out for a bit more since I really don't want to go through the decision process again.

Thanks for the support :)

I get the feeling this happens in the spring every year for them. People want a stringer before summer, and Stringway can't build them fast enough.

Ordering late in the summer you might have better luck.

Keep in mind, delay can also include the parts supply chain! Maybe you should send an Email to Stringway, and see if they can expedite your order. It could be a dealer issue and not a machine availability issue.

Hi,
I too have been waiting for my TT ECO since April.
My shipping cost was listed as $25 but of course distance will effect this cost.

Regarding some of the other posts/questions:
I placed a "reservation" not an order per se since that's all they required (no credit card info was given) late April.
Tim indicated they expected to receive the latest shipment the first week of June and it would ship then. At that
point I would need to confirm my order with payment info and had the right to cancel as well.
I confirmed it the first week (full) of June and was told it would ship later in the week. No deposit required and I
was not charged until it shipped (the law).

Lots of issues (excuses?) since then but it did ship (two boxes) last week.
Now I'm working through some missing/incorrect items (tools, weight, base) but I do have the machine (and the
extra string for the shipping mishaps).

Not to come to the complete defense of LF (since I'm still not up stringing yet) but I have been kept up to
date on the status (lots of phone calls/emails). Although it feels like I've been waiting 1 1/2 months, I went
it to it knowing it was going to be 4+ weeks from "order" to shipping.
All in all it's been about two weeks now working through this. Maybe that's
patience but I don't think I'm known for that :o

I will say this, (as have other people here) when you do get him he will explain whatever he needs to for as long as it takes.
I've had multiple 1hr calls with him going over the machine itself (prior to purchase) and stringing & assembly
all before I even had the machine. If he spends this much time on the phone with each customer I think I
understand why he's tough to get a hold of. I'm still going to have my 1hour "stringing lesson" when I actually start stringing
with it for the first time.

I liken this to hiring a contractor for working at your house. For those of you who have had this fortunate task
you know what I mean. Get them on the phone, get them to tell you when they're showing up, get them to
get started, and then get them to do what you want until it's done.

Is it worth it? I don't know but now that I've seen the machine I can tell you that there is not one piece of it
that looks like it was poorly designed or built. I also like the fact that I can call a real person (not a phone clerk) who knows the machine and will explain it to you. If the cost of this personal service is dealing with a small shop and their issues, then I think it is worth it in the long run. I hope I'm right.

Back210s, so you did receive the incorrect weight? That was the latest reason I was told mine was on hold. He said they shipped a weight to some people that doesn't fit properly on the arm.

Interesting that you ordered yours late April and were told June. I ordered mine early April, was told late April/early May, and they stuck with that date each time I called. After that it was always "should be by the end of the week". I still haven't got anything. The fact you've received something at least gives me hope I may at some point ;)

Interesting, you buy a machine for top dollar, they can't deliver, give you the round around, and when they do deliver the machine, they don't even check to see if the shipment and parts are correct.

I certainly would not do business with a company like that. Ask for a refund and try Gamma they at least take the time to check it out before shipping.

Interesting you say this - I was on LF's waiting list and didn't want to wait any longer - picked up a Gamma 5003. What a beauty that thing is, kind of glad I made that decision.

You made a good decision, plus Gamma has a lot of dealers, a big plus. I have owned 2 Gamma machines and 1 Eagnas, received all of the machines on time, and never had problems with any missing components put them together and they worked.
Not sure what is going on at LF, would send a complaint email to Stringway, to many problems.

It fit...it just falls off :)
The LF weight system uses two weights, a large one and a smaller one and they attach with a allen screw (I believe).
If you look close in the photos you can make out the seam between the two. I received only the large one and
am waiting for the smaller one. The smaller one is also the one that hold the knob which secures the weight to the arm.
You can also purchase an additional one later if you need to do 70+ tensions or remove the larger one for sub 25lbs(?).

I believe they are holding to fix some of these problems with the initial shipments.
I assume the mistake was on the Stringway side???
