Has anybody been to previous Laver Cups? I ask because I am contemplating getting tickets to this year's (if there are any tickets left) and I wonder if it will be worth it? I would be happier if more of my favorites were in it. I would go in a heartbeat of Carlos Alcaraz was one of the players! There are some tickets I can afford, I checked online, but there don't seem to be many left. I just don't want to spend the money and then find it to be a waste of time and energy! I would know which day to go if I knew who was playing who ahead of time! (;

I attended the Chicago edition in 2018 and it was a pretty fun experience. Got to watch all sorts of players I'd never be able to see in a regular tournament format and despite some of the cringe that comes with that exho, the tennis was pretty good (besides the Federer-Kyrgios match). Team World definitely choked a fair few matches though.

The issue here is that none of the Big 3 are playing which probably puts a bit of a damper in the whole thing, but I'd still recommend it. Completely different experience compared to watching it on TV.

I went to that 2018 edition as well. I expected an exhibition like tennis, which I do not like but got the tickets for dirt cheap, but it actually was quite competitive tennis. Good experience all around, at least that year. Part of it perhaps was the venue - the United Center. A single black if I recall tennis court, the lights, it was great.

I looked at who is playing and like about 7 of the players very much. I have decided to go on Saturday, September 25th! Hoping I get to see at least 2 or 3 of my favorites play!

I purchased my tickets for Friday, September 24. I hope I get to see some of my favorites play, pretty good chance I will since I like almost all of the players participating in the Laver Cup this year.

Will anyone else be going to it this year?

It'll be a problem. Not a huge one but everyone used to pay for opportunity to see the Big 3 and someone else they liked. Now how can you sustain that level of attention? Will you buy tickets for Medv's exhibition?

I have 2 tickets, one for Saturday and one for Sunday. Never been to a pro tennis match before so I'm excited. Sucks that Roger/Rafa/Thiem won't be there but I'm still hoping to see Tsitsipas live, definitely my favorite Next Gen player

I wonder what the criteria was for picking because the final Europe spot went to Lopez. Alcaraz would’ve been a good choice.

Someone on another thread said that Alcaraz was out injured until October at least so even if he had wanted to play it wouldn't have been possible.

I went to the event in Geneva and had a fantastic time - loved the matches, the atmosphere, the whole thing. And I can say I've seen Federer and Nadal play - cheering great Federer points along with his home crowd was an amazing feeling!

Haven't ruled out going when it comes to London but even though I'm in the UK it wouldn't be that much cheaper than the Geneva trip! So maybe I'll leave it as a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

I am going on Friday. Do you know when they will let us know which matches will be played at what time? I am hoping I get my personal favorites, such as Schwartzman, Carreno Busta, Shapovalov, Berrettini - they aren't the four best players but they are my four personal favorites!

I looked on the Laver Cup website a couple days ago and it sounds like we won't know which players are playing until the day before each match unfortunately if I remember correctly :\

I went to Chicago, saw some great tennis..always fun to watch Fed owning the court..
There were touts selling tickets outside the venue in Chicago, it was cheaper than buying tickets beforehand..and better seats..I am guessing there will be even more tickets being sold outside this time since no Big 3..so if you live close by, take the chance and just show up there..

It may be one of the last opportunities to see Berry on court. After watching him work the Met Gala he was hired to handle security for Lorde’s 2022 tour.

Just stand there and look pretty. Also, his girlfriend is overrated. He can do better.

Apparently he has a foot injury and my Brit friends said Cam Norrie is replacing him. I haven’t seen anything official on the site though. My friend sent me the announcement from England. I was hoping to see Tsits live too especially the interactions between him, Sascha and Daniil.

Yes. It came from a translated Greek article. It’s a chronic thing. Actually if you remember tour finals in 2019 he had injections for it. Same before one of his GS matches against Djokovic. I’ve heard of it cropping up here and there in the last couple of years and I’ve seen him grimace from time to time. The article said he was going to need surgery to fix it. Morton’s neuroma.

I paid hoping I’d see Fed and I’m disappointed about that, but it’s not often you get to see players of the caliber of these guys in a format like this. Nothing wrong with fun in tennis.

Surprised he believed those injections were safe.

isn't Kyrios injured ? it's funny how he is miraculously healthy just when laver cup rolls around. maybe he knows he doesn't have to play his best since this is just play around EXO event and they don't really play for real anyway

He was walking round Harvard yesterday so no sign that he's withdrawing. Also Feliciano Lopez is the alternate so I don't think they can suddenly bring someone else in.

I hope he’s there. I would really like to see him play. He had pulled out of Davis Cup and the article, which was an interview given by his father, said next time he would play was IW. Glad to see that’s not the case but not sure that’s wise on his part. I’m off to the airport in about 30 minutes. Can’t wait

I believe that this is one of those things in life that--if you don't go, you could regret it; if you do go, you will never regret it.
