Laver Cup 2022

It's just crazy to see how the talent of Tsitsipas is still there in the first set, but the next hour after that was the same story of his career basically since that RG final loss to Djokovic. There was a time 3-4 years ago when I thought he was the mentally toughest of the NextGen. But all he does is crumble under pressure these days.
 
I’m actually done with Tsitsipas. This is the absolute last straw for me. Can’t invest emotional energy in somebody who simply won’t ever step up. Pathetic.
 
Turned out a Big 4 Laver Cup team came too late to be significant :DImagine if they could have done it ten years ago.
 
What a comeback! So completely unexpected! Team World winning all 3 matches today? Did not see that happening! And that's why they play - Team Europe had all the top 10 players, all the Grand Slam winners, yet the underdog team was able to successfully and finally win the Laver Cup!

Exactly. Its good for the laver cup. Finally team world to win. They were close in the first 3 but after last years rout it was really necessary this year.
 
Come to think of it,
this time team europee didnt have best players. No alcaraz and frankly murray is a liability. And so is roger -rafa. That 2 points lost which can make all the difference

18 and 19 he was mostly winning the close stuff - his first impressive run in Canada 18, vs fed in AO 19, then won YEC 19 incl beating fed and thiem b2b
 
They gave this one to them. They didn’t even put Alcaraz, Sinner or Medvedev in the lineup. At least world wins one.
 
The weird thing is it couldn't have worked out much better for Federer as far as the future of the tournament is concerned.

The incredible spectacle of Friday night which will now be associated in people's minds with the competition.

I think Jon Wertheim put it best - he says it is an exhibition but he doesn't see why that makes it a bad thing.

I don't have any problem with people who don't like it - I just wish they'd stay away. I'm tired of the people who always turn up and say "of course the match is going to go this way, it's all a fix" then when the match doesn't go that way they wait until the next one with the same line and on and on...... It's not a fix because no edition has ever gone to a doubles tiebreaker, two have finished before the final game (including this one) and you would never in a million years have fixed it to go the way of last year.

No-one has to buy a ticket, no player has to play it. They do both because they want to.
 
Team world obviously had more hunger. And it showed.

They should name in Team North America.
Its US and Canada who did the trick

It's pretty wild I was watching Tommy Paul against Alcaraz in Montreal and he was down MP and if he loses that match he's probably not tasting that Cup victory for Team World as an alternate. Cressy or Opelka would be there instead. Rare case of a single point maybe changing an entire career.
