yes. take off the main grip, and wrap it undernetiehr. its its synthetic, it souldnt be problem, and you wont feel the lead underneath. just in case though, you shoul dbe careful to wrap the lead in several rows, not all on top itself, this will build up this section, and make it undcomfy to play. aslo, you dont really need 4 grams in the hadle, because you are counterweighing weight that is not completely on hte otehr end of the racqeut. at 3 and 9, its not at the furthest posible point from the hadle, thus it doesnt increase the swingwight as much as 4 grams on 12. thjing is, if you were to hold the raceut at exactly 13.5 inches away form either side, the through on most racquets, tehn you can balance adn counterbalance perfectly, and it would rea;lly make a difference. the way we hold it, the raceut is sticking out from our hand, thus creating a perfect balance is very tough. it depends on where your hanbd is in relashion tot he grip. if you are a righty, and you hold teh raceut in a regular continental grip, you can measure out the leanth of the racqeut starting ftom your pointer finger onward. it will be about 24 inches or so. it makes no sense to me to balance a frame as if it were 27 inches long, when you only swing 24inches of it.
The machine that measures swingweight, if im not mistaken, holds the frame from the butcap to measure the frames inertia. thus, the figure is quite different from what we experience as we swing the frame, becasue we hold it higher up on the grip. perfect example of this to try choke up on hte grip about 3 inches or so and swing. much much easier isnt it?
