Lead tape in the handle to balance...????

Somone said to keep the balance even, you need to put the same amount of lead tape in the handle as you do on the head. If you put 2 grams of lead tape at 3 and 9, you would put 4 grams on the handle. Is this true? Where and how do you put lead tape in the handle? I don't have experience doing this. Thanks. Also, to provide a bit more stability in a frame, is 9 and 3 the way to go, or should some at 12 (or even 10 and 2) be considered?

yes. take off the main grip, and wrap it undernetiehr. its its synthetic, it souldnt be problem, and you wont feel the lead underneath. just in case though, you shoul dbe careful to wrap the lead in several rows, not all on top itself, this will build up this section, and make it undcomfy to play. aslo, you dont really need 4 grams in the hadle, because you are counterweighing weight that is not completely on hte otehr end of the racqeut. at 3 and 9, its not at the furthest posible point from the hadle, thus it doesnt increase the swingwight as much as 4 grams on 12. thjing is, if you were to hold the raceut at exactly 13.5 inches away form either side, the through on most racquets, tehn you can balance adn counterbalance perfectly, and it would rea;lly make a difference. the way we hold it, the raceut is sticking out from our hand, thus creating a perfect balance is very tough. it depends on where your hanbd is in relashion tot he grip. if you are a righty, and you hold teh raceut in a regular continental grip, you can measure out the leanth of the racqeut starting ftom your pointer finger onward. it will be about 24 inches or so. it makes no sense to me to balance a frame as if it were 27 inches long, when you only swing 24inches of it.

The machine that measures swingweight, if im not mistaken, holds the frame from the butcap to measure the frames inertia. thus, the figure is quite different from what we experience as we swing the frame, becasue we hold it higher up on the grip. perfect example of this to try choke up on hte grip about 3 inches or so and swing. much much easier isnt it?

Thanks. Why couldn't I put weight on the throat? Or is the handle better if I'm going to put some on 9 and 3? Is 9 and 3 enough for that added stabilty? If I'm putting 3 inches of lead at 9, for example, do I put the three inches on one long strip, or two 1 1/2 strips on top of each other? Thanks.

It sounds like I don't need any at 12 for stability. Is that right?

Lead tape's greatest function is that of adding stability. If you're looking for more power, try a more powerful string and lower tension. The great thing about adding weight to the handle and throat is that you increase stability without significantly increasing swingweight and hurting manueverability.

The main reason the Tour 90 is better on returns than the PC 600 is because the Tour 90 has considerably more weight in the handle.

One Question!

What about it,when i put Lead on the 6 o clock position???? Make that the racket only heavier or do i change the balance with it????????

It would prefer that version,or isnt it true?

Balance your racket on your finger. If you put weight on either end of the racket, do you have to move your finger to re-balance the racket (The answer is yes)? Therefore, you are changing the balance if you add weight anywhere except the point at which it balances.
