So far I am loving Oehm's. I also love the Yonex leather grips as well

I feel like leather grips are starting to be a dying fad. Does anyone else love the feel of them like I do? Also, any thoughts on the best brand? I currently have Wilson Premium Leather Grips on my rackets and am very pleased. I have also heard Fairways are great.

If I want a thicker, heavier leather, Volkl is hard to beat. I also really like Babolat black leather, which is a little lighter and thinner than Volkl. Recently, I've wanted to experiment with lighter/thinner leather grips, and Tecnifibre seems like a good option. Anyone try those?

Big fan of leather with an overgrip. I generally prefer a thinner leather as I do not want to build up my grip size. For overgrip, I usually go with Yonex supergrap or Wilson Pro, but on the sweatier days will go with Tournagrip, although I hate that Tournagrip grips are wide but too short!

While I’m no fan of Babolat racquets, they do make a nice leather grip and have them on all of my Ultra Tours underneath Tournagrip XL.

All of my faves have been getting the Oehms leather treatment lately and I love the feel.

I’ve just received two Oehms leather grips today and put them on a couple of my ultra tours. I’ll have to admit that the over all quality and leather softness/suppleness is better than any brand I’ve used previously. I can’t wait to hit with these soon!

What is the Dunlop leather grip on the Srixon anderson racket?
Srixon makes its own leather grips for the racquet and Dunlop makes a separate leather grip. Srixon is more light color and thinner; Dunlop is more dark and thicker feeling in my opinion

Dunlop leather may work for you here

I am not too sure. It looks different.

Please do you know the reference of the CX 200 leather grip?

The Dunlop leather that we sell is darker in color than the one that comes stock on the racquet, and it's hard to know if it's thicker. For something similar to the stock one on the CX 200 Tour, you might want to try the TW Private Label leather in 1.3mm thickness as an alternative.

Thanks,

Totally agree!! I've tried almost all leather grips made since the early 90's and nothing comes close to Fairway!!

Ohems Retro and HeadFinest Calfskin Yonex are pretty good as well IMO.

For those referencing the Dunlop leather sold separately vs the Srixon that comes stock on the 200 tour. I am basing the thickness completely off feel; I switched to the 16x19 200 tour which doesnt come standard with a leather grip and when adding the Dunlop leather grip it feels slightly thicker. No science behind my post in the interest of fairness but it does feel slightly thicker

Only recently came across some posts about the OEHM Leathers. I currently use Fairways on my frames, just wondering how these compare?

My only issue with the Oehm's grip was that it seemed to bump up the grip size considerably as opposed to other brands. Super comfy and plush though.

I use Tecnifibre leather grips on all my blades. Thickness is good and it is a little softer than the head leather I’ve used before, I want to try head finest calfskin and that oehms leather grip to see if they are even softer.

I have used the current Fairways, Wilsons, and Prince Calfskin. I don't use an overgrip. I had the Fairways on my PS90s. I felt like the overall break in period was a murderous 4-5 months (playing 4-5 times a week). Playing in the winter in L.A., the grip seemed to suck out of the moisture from my hands over the course of a hit session like a vampire. Or maybe it was some sort of reaction to the chemicals Fairway uses to cure the leather. Now the Fairways are much softer and have excellent tac. I don't know if it was the installation or just the grip in general, but the Fairways seemed to hug the bevels tightly without feeling harsh. They were the heaviest grips, so I appreciate the slight shift in the balance of the PS90s. Once they were broken in, the Fairways were my favorite.

The Wilson leather grips were solid. The break in period was a couple months. I don't know what Fairway and Wilson use to dye their grips, but I wish they would tone down on the orange. It has ruined many a Costco hand towel. A bit slicker and a little less absorbent than the Fairways and the bevels felt a little less pronounced. Still solid all the way around.

The Prince Calfskins (stock grip on a Prince 93P) required no break in period whatsoever. They had a soft and almost spongy feel but offered the least amount of tac. No issues with dyes. They also seemed to be the least absorbent and durable. For a while, I preferred these after switching from the PS90 to the 93P from an instant comfort standpoint. My local pro shop ran out of the Prince Calfskins so I regripped my 93Ps in Wilson Leather. I feel like it is the happy medium between the other two leather grips.

If you can stand the break in period or have a solid method for breaking in a leather grip, I'd personally go for the Fairways. If you have sensitive hands, I'd probably go for the Prince grips.

I think my fav leather grip was the Prince Leather Grips that came with the Prince Chang Extended POGs back in the mid 90s.

I did put a synthetic grip in my C10 Pro last month to "lose some weight" but today I gave up and went back to leather.
It's just another feeling

best leather grip

1 grip buildup
2 over grips.

Gives you:
1 the most consistent handle you have ever had and feels the same as your other racquet.
2 Easily modified with weighting
3 If you like leather grips, you obviously like a firm tight feel, my method gives you the greatest feel without the harshness
4 If you like to feel the bevels.. this is your best option. it's not round.

I'll second that. I'm a leather user all my life starting from when they were factory installed on frames. Always played with something over it - gauze, then Blue Tourna Grip, then Yonex Tour Grap. Around 2015, I did the above as it smoothly covered the balsa or polystyrene strips on my Volkl and Prince handles. Then I discovered that simply wrapping 2 OGs over the handle gave me a much more precise feel of the bevels, in addition to more precise frame matching.

Unfortunately, I've been dealing with TE for a year and have gone to GEL --- but, gonna try swapping out to leather on my new PK Black Ace Kinetic! I don't think my arm is quite ready for my prefered grip setup.

I just ordered two Oehms leather grips to put on my new prestige pros. Pretty excited to try these out, I usually use Wilson, Dunlop or TW depending on the racquet
