Left hand or right hand

Hello,

I've unsuccessfully searched through the forum to get an answer to the following question. I'm hoping someone can give me some guidance.

If someone writes left handed, throws a ball and plays golf right handed, and is right eye dominant, am I correct in assuming they should be taught to play tennis right handed?

Thanks in advance

The above describes me, I play all sports right handed and footed, including tennis. And write left handed.

Why would you consider left handed for tennis if that person already plays other sports right handed (and throws)?

Unless you wish to follow Nadal's plan.

Why not let them pick up the racquet and see what comes naturally?

Seems to me there really shouldn't be much thought on this, unless you wish to adopt Uncle Nadal's tactical reasoning.

Do what's comfortable, though likely right handed is the answer from what you're describing.

Definitely try serving with both hands, even just a shadow swing. A few years back I hurt my right wrist in a fall and could not swing a racquet for a month or so. I goofed around playing left handed, with 1hbh, w a foam ball against a wall. Honestly, it wasn't bad. I hit fhs and bhs OK considering. But serving . . . Oh man. I could not do that motion to save my life. Maybe I could have learned, but I think it would have been hard.

Try using both hands for now.
After one month, which is stronger, which allow more time on court? Use that one.

Well, it seemed obvious to me to use the right hand, but I just wanted to check to see if I'm missing something.

Thanks

If its a child then no harm trying with the left hand, if its for an adult, I imagine a few seconds of trying left handed will confirm it pretty quickly.

left handed players tend to have the advantage i think we can all agree on that if all other things are equal

No correlation between eye dominance and hand/arm dominance tmk.

I am right-eyed and throw right-handed. I also bat right-handed and suspect that I would probably play golf right-handed. However, for more other tasks, I am left-handed. While I can hit some of my strokes with my right arm for tennis and badminton, I am much better with my left.
