Left handers - How do you wrap your grips?

v205

Semi-Pro
To left hander players: Do you wrap your grips to suit left handers (angle of the lines matching the angles of the fingers) or do you wrap it right handed style regardless?

I've always used the right handed wrap as a left hander but recent experiements seems to indicated that proper grip installation for left handers may perform better. (in terms of feel and less unneccessary frictions)

i do righty way because it feels better. when i did the left way i could hold the grip one way and when i twirled it it would feel weird. i cant really explain it

I am righty but grip left.

An old habbit picked up as a junior when having to grip a racquet quickly in a match.. Just seemed faster for me to hold the handle with the racquet facing down with the left hand, and using the right to wrap it..

Cant stand it any other way now...

All of my grips are reverse wrapped for a lefty. This includes the leathers under my supergrap. The trick for the leather is to 1st cut a taper to the end, which is easy, and then to bevel the edge where you've cut the taper. Making the bevel requires a razor blade and some patience, but it's worth it.

On a side note, I wrapped my grips normally for years when I was a kid. Switching was awkward at first, but after a week or so, I could never go back. It's so nice having a grip that properly fits your hand.

Are most modern leather grips sold to be able to wrap both ways?

I bought a 2nd hand racket which came with a TW leather and it was able to wrap both ways. ie. both sides are tapered like this:

Although not a natural lefty, I have been playing lefty for two years now, due to an injury in my right arm, and I just wrap counter-clockwise. Most OG's are made to be put on like that. If you buy a reel, you can cut out the OG the way you want, so that makes it less cumbersome to wrap lefty; the precut ones are cut for righties.

play left, serve right .....

Always wrap right-handed......tho I play left I serve right.
