Legg Mason Classic

Has anyone here ever been to the Legg Mason Tennis Classic?
I have nevre been to a tourney, but am a little confused on how tickets work. The way their site shows it, you buy a ticket to a session , for example the Mon- Thurs 7/31- 8/6 all have 4pm sessions. Does this mean no tennis is played prior to 4? and the ticket you buy is good from 4pm till when? It seems like you are buying a ticket for a specific seat in the main stadium court, but what if you want to roam around all day? That is the ticket i would like to buy. Is that sold only on site?

Anyone with a little experience, i would love to understand how this works so i can decide which day to go.

thanks

Those tickets let you roam around all day.

Play doesn't start until 4:00 PM, if I remember correctly.

The ticket you buy is good until the end of the day, and play continues for a while; last year, when I went on Wednesday, there were still matches going on until 11:30 PM or so. (That match in particular was, I think Damm/Paes vs Berdych/Hernych in doubles.) You can roam around to the other courts, of course. There are lights on three or so courts besides center court.

(I think it works slightly differently from the quarterfinals onwards - then, they have separate "day session" and "night session"s, I'm not sure whether you get kicked off the grounds in between those, or whether you just can't get to the stadium court.)

As for whether you have to get tickets in advance or not - last year, I got tickets for one day far in advance, had them mailed to me through ticketmaster. But that day was a bit disappointing, and I was really excited about the next day's matches, so I just got another ticket for the next day. (Also online, but this was the-night-before.) I think they do indeed sell tickets on-site and they probably won't sell out for the first couple of rounds, I would guess. Or at least that's what I'm banking on this year, I'm not getting any tickets until I can see the schedule of play for that day ;)

u should go down i wish i could lol i live in the Uk only a few tournaments here in the whole year like Wimbledon, Queens, Nottingham. Whereas in the US u have AMS indian wells and miami. Cincy. Indianopolis. Legg Mason. New Haven. US Open. And sometimes Masters Cup.

Roddick v Henman 3rd round

For me the last 8:

Henman v Tursunov

Safin v Srichaphan
Hewitt v Hrbaty

Last 4:

wow lleyton, you believe Henman will defeat Roddick, Murray will beat Agassi, and Hewitt will defeat Safin?

Hey, anything can happen, I suppose.

Though I certainly don't think Henman will do anywhere near that well.

look Roddick just coming of injury.....erm the good Safin shows up about 35% of the time and Murray....if he can defeat Roddick on grass he can defeat Agassi on Hard.

Good lookin' draw. For Agassi, Goldstein and Fish shouldn't be too much of a trouble. Murray shouldn't be much of a bother either. He doesn't have the weapons or the speed to really hurt Agassi. The kid better not try too many drop shots. Agassi can run them down but it's always hard watching that.

Roddick might play his old pal Tipsarevic, then probably Henman and then Tursunov. Tough draw for him. Hopefully he gets through, because I want to see an Agassi/Roddick semi. It's hard to make a pick there since Agassi is somewhat rusty, yet holds a winning record over Roddick and has the right tools to give him trouble. I see Agassi in the final.

On the other half, Blake has Mahut in the 3rd round who gave him trouble in the RCA. Then probably Grosjean followed by Hewitt. Blake/Hewitt is tough to call but I'll go with Blake.

I am a Murray fan but given injuries and form I dont see him in the final, Id like to however!

Whoever's going, bring a paper fan and lots of H20

So, I'm planning to be at Legg Mason tomorrow! :) I'll be the guy in the Claremont/Mudd/Scripps Tennis shirt, and the Harvey Mudd College hat, probably hanging out in the vicinity of the outer courts. Say hi to me if you see me :)
