Leniency of Nike's 6 month guarantee (URGENT reply needed!)

So I've got a pair of Ballistec 1.3s whose guarantee will expire in 5 days.
I haven't worn through, but the sole is pretty bald to the point where the traction lost could help you roll an ankle. I was wondering if anyone knows how lenient Nike's staff are.

That said, has anyone been able to get their shoes replaced though they haven't worn through completely?

Mine are in the exact (or somewhat similar) condition. I think you might have to wear it a bit more.

ugh. Damnit. I lent them to a friend for a month or two to see if he could wear through them via sanding/grinding it while on his motorcycle and he couldn't. I'm screwed..

I was considering telling whichever Nike employee I talk to that I've slid and rolled my ankle due to the balding of the sole, hence my questioning their leniency.
Think they'd take it?

Well if they survived motorcycle grinding then I would say nike deserves the money :). Im using the ballistec's and they are great shoes.

most definitely, but I have got to get rid of them /:
it was a 50-50 call, either keep them and try to make them last as long as possible (past the 6 months), or try to wear through them in time to replace.
bad call :////

electric sander. or just run and rub the soles on a rough surface like rough concrete. strange, my CB 2.3's are starting to wear down and go smooth and I havent put more than 20 hours into them.

If you are playing on hard courts, why would balding treads reduce traction?

I'm pretty sure any regular Nike customer service rep wouldn't be aware of this. I've a friend who has spoken to a few who didn't even know about the 6 month guarantee.

electric sander.

or that i think it's called a sandbelt sander? idk i used one in work shop to make stuff. I would try that. those handheld ones too plug it in and go to town on them. if you couldn't in the time you've had them, then you won't in the last few days by wearing them.

I know that Nike is easy on the date that you send in your shoes. I've sent them in 7 days late and everything was fine. As far as the shoe itself, I am not sure.

I have seen someone sand down some courtballistic 1.3 and the sole goes on forever. The traction on the shoes are not very thick but the sole itself is very thick.

If the shoes were easy to wear out Nike wouldn't guarantee them.
