Took 2 lessons with this coach by the end of October, first ones in over 10 years. I really enjoyed them and now I'm a bit sour I didn't take more lessons during the Summer when the courts are less pricey.
His main critique was that my ball is too flat and demanded of me to put more spin and to play with more height over the net. Also pointed out that most of my misses were because of inadequate leg preparation.
Unfortunately I positioned the phone too much to the left so there are many shots in 1st drill (CC FH) when I'm out of the frame. It's much better in the 2nd lesson I took with this coach but I played it with a different racquet strung with shaped poly which didn't suit me at all, so I'm a bit reluctant to post that one. String I'm using in this one is Kirschbaum Competition and it's a very nice co-poly which is kind of good at everything.
2nd drill in the video, when coach is hitting the volleys while I'm scrambling to pick them up after one bounce is something I've never worked on with any coach before. His instruction was to not hit too hard and to aim at him so we can get as much shots in a row as possible. Exhausting drill. Sort of like hitting against the wall but obviously not as predictable.
3rd drill (my volleys) is what I'm a bit confused about, as he told me to stand at middle of the service box and hit volleys from there. Watching instructional videos on youtube, people usually stand at the end of service box and then come in on a volley, which gives them space to set up properly with the legs. I even suggested this but he said to stand at the middle of the service box. Still, it's a good touch drill I guess.
Lesson was 10€ + 5€ for the court (1€ =1.1$), so I think that's a good value for the drill imo. Your thoughts?
