Let us know you.....

Just thought it would be interested to see who's who. Maybe it's already been done before, but I didn't see one. I live in St. Ignatius, MT. I am a 39 year old female who is married with 4 kids.... 21 yr. boy, 17 yr. boy, 16 yr. girl and 20 month boy (whoops :p ) I am self-employed and stay at home with my son. I make and sell traditional Native American style beadwork and sell it from our website and ****. I LOVE playing tennis and am the assistant h.s. tennis coach this year. My husband is the Head coach. This is his 4th year. I did previous three years volunteer coaching the m.s. tennis team and also coach h.s. girls volleyball. Basically started m.s. tennis program and did it all just for the joy of teaching the kids. They are so fun. I am a 4.0 level tennis player and try to play local tourneys and USTA leagues. But, greatest joy is being able to finally play my teenage kids. It's such a awesome feeling being able to hit with them and seeing that they could actually beat you at any given moment. My husband has taught them well. Okay, enough about me.

48 / married 13 years / one son, 26 (Package deal. I got the best bargain.) / Ex-teaching pro from "back East," from a family of teaching pros (4-of-5 of us kids were teaching pros) / H.S. Tennis coach (former Volleyball coach, too) / Took 12 years "off" from tennis. Played golf and volleyball. Studied martial arts. (I'm back.) / Tennis was "dead" in this Colorado town, so I started a Community Ladder. We're getting there.... / Run a one-day "Equalizer Tourney" each summer at a vacation resort we frequent. It's a *hoot*! / My wife asked me to teach her tennis last summer. We're having a blast! / Son doesn't play. Baseball & Golf are his sports. / Love to ski: the deeper and steeper, the better!

Everything I can say about myself is on my online journal. :)

EDIT: But... so this post won't seem like I'm advertising, I should probably put a few things here. I'm 21 years old but I will be turning 22 this July. I'm female (and that's very important because some people don't know that "Noelle" is the feminine version of "Noel"). I finished my bachelor's degree three years ago and have been working towards a master's degree. I've only been playing tennis for eight months, but because of the lovely weather in the Philippines I get to play often and I'm hoping to improve quickly.

I'm fourteen. I will be fifteen in three months. I live in Idaho, that international hotbed of nothing. This is my 5th year of playing tennis.

I'm 16.5 (In NY where I live, the .5 makes a world of difference when it comes to laws and such) I go to school. I'm a future pre-law and English major and if things go as planned, I'll be PURSUING said major at Columbia U in the city. I love to shop and travel. When I'm not being my well known self at the tennis club, I ski and play lacrosse.

Columbia, huh? Excellent school, you must be very smart. I really wanted to go there but things did not go as planned. Are you from nyc or upstate?

Well about me. I'm a college player looking studying business and medicine.... Be careful about what you post for privacy reasons...

45/ married 20 years/ two girls, 10 and 15/ Captained my high school team, played for fun through college. Stopped playing for 17 years, just picked it up again two years ago. Broke my arm this year in a situation similar to Noelle's sprained ankle, but am back on the courts for the Adult USTA season. But the most fun I've had in ages was playing mom and daughter doubles yesterday with my 10 year old. Her friend from preschool has been taking lessons also, and her mom and I are rated the same, but play out of different clubs. We weren't sure the girls were ready for doubles, but boy were they ready. Giggling like you wouldn't believe as they blasted service returns through the mom at the net. Putting amazing lobs onto the back line, hitting volleys hard through the net mom. So she and I have visions of watching these girls play doubles together at the local high school:-) My older daughter doesn't play tennis, so this was sooo cool for me. We decided to do this every other week, as the girls just loved it.

As for upstate or the city, this is me being careful for privacy reasons.

I wasn't talking about you, just a general warning for others not to give out too much info. I grew up in the city and plan on going back....

I was kidding, I dont live in the city, but I know it well. I know the ins and outs I've been in the club suites at msg. Mmm nyc. :)

I'm from Lincoln, Nebraska and I'm 22yrs old. I go to school full-time and work part-time (soon to be full-time as well). Have been playing tennis since the age of four. One of those juniors who never invested the money that others did to become really good. So played competitive juniors in zonals and such which was fun, but never made the committment that so many others do with tons of private lessons to become good. I want to find a beautiful blonde woman someday and have 2 children named Misery and Kirk.

Meg ...just a quick note here...before you fill out that application. You might want to write "pursuing" since that is what you mean to say. Just trying to save you a little heartache there, girl, since the higher up the education ladder you go, the more picky and finicky they become.
I'm a former sportswriter and 5th Grade Spelling Bee Champ, so just take that as a spelling tip. We'll work on that forehand later, too.

For the rest of you, since this is a post about who you are, I'm 30, and I live in San Antonio, Texas. I'm a 5.0+ player, single, blah blah. I have a pretty lame homepage that might give your more details since I really don't feel like sitting here for much longer on this sunny, beautiful, 85 degree weather day.

Thank you Jeff for officially embarassing me. I know how to spell pursuing. I too was a fifth grade spelling bee champ and am currently top 5 percent of my class. I don't revise my posts before I actually post them; ironic that as I brag about my future, I overlook my incorrect spelling of pursuing. I know your intentions were good, but your post angered me a little bit.

I'm 37, married, 3 cats, no kids. Played on the tennis team in high school, then pretty much dropped the sport for 16 years. I have started up again, at the 4.0 level.

Off the court, I work as a Webmaster, and enjoy basketball, role-playing games, stout and singlemalt.

Male, 42, married with two boys ages 4 and 5 1/2. Grew up mostly overseas, Phillippines, Thailand, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia with stints in Washington, D.C. Went to college in California, UCSB. Worked in DC for several years trying to figure out what to do with my life, went to Univ. of Maryland Law School, met my wife while teaching a tennis class and moved to Texas. Previously was a solid 5.0, now more of a 4.5, try to play twice a week....

Tenny is from Tennesia-X

I don't think my superiors will check this board...

I am from Tennesia-X, the capital planet of this galaxy. I was reproduced 1969 year ago. It's been 36 yr since I was stationed in this little but pretty planet. You guys must have been wondering about the origin of the name 'tennis', or haven't you? We have been planting various primitive life forms in many planets and conducting experiments for many many and many years. how fast they evolve in a given environment. One index we use is tennis. We programmed it onto the genome and wait and see how long it tooks for the life form to develop this sport. And how well the life form plays it. So far, you guys have been quite disappointing, to be honest.

In Tennesia, players close to their recycle play ~40 sq inch oversize racquets. In gladiatorial tour, many get killed during match since there is no speed limit of serve or overhead (But we revive them soon. Gladiators are not cheap). One can win a match as you guys do here but easiest way to win is killing the opponent with your serve. Quick, easy and exciting. Our technology has evolved to perfection but tennis has been preserved to its primitive, natural form, which was a wise decision.

I almost blew up this planet b/c I was so disappointed that ppl don't know how to live harmoniously and peacefully, which bothered me a lot! Another! I was ordered to wipe this planet if the tennis-progress is too slow. But finally I found tennis-warehouse.com and realized there is hope. I still carry the bomb in my racquet bag so you guys better play tennis harder and harder if you want to live!!!

I am currently using a human form-A scientist. I'm stationed in the bay area, california where many biotechs and other institutes are (very nice cover for me). But I think it was a mistake, they should have chosen florida. Married, one son (8). Finally I began playing earth-style tennis 3 yrs ago out of boredom.

Tenny
