Let's assume the UO and RG are not cancelled

There's talk that Federer will play the UO and skip RG, understandably. Nadal is rumored to maybe skip the UO and play RG.

Wouldn't that just make Nadal a desperate clay courter?

Discuss.

I doubt any of them will be played - but if they are, Wimbledon should be also.

Why should RG get to move itself to another spot in the calendar, when Wimbledon might suffer and have to be cancelled?
It’s a battle for survival! Only the quickest tournaments to react will survive

Is it any surprise that Federer fans are the loudest "we will get no tennis this year" proponents while Djokodal fans are on the opposite end of the spectrum lol?

Here's a novel thought, we have no idea what is going to happen. I would say it's more likely than not at this point that the season is wiped but it is far from a certainty. China is already beginning to reopen movie theaters and public places and while it took draconian measures to turn the tide their, we don't need a 12-week turnaround to save the fall season. And other countries, such as South Korea, have done an excellent job without needing to virtually institute martial law like China did.

We simply don't know what is going to happen yet.

The only "rumor" I've heard was an idiot named Todd Woodbridge, and the rumor was pure speculation by the drunk Aussie.
Only a pure idiot would think Rafa was skipping the US Open, given that he's playing for the US Open record!

I agree with you. We simply don't know what is going to happen at this point. But... as China loosens it's measures and is letting the public move around more again the virus is resurging as a result. It's proven. And that's not good news at all.

That's what was expected to happen, but the country can better handle what will be a more limited surge now. What it couldn't handle was everyone getting it at once.

As long as it is not contained and infected folks quarantined it will continue to spread .

We are not anywhere close to getting a drug or vaccine

Winning 4 USO titles is pretty tremendous for a desperate clay-courter.

He's just maximizing his chances of becoming the GOAT, which means he may skip USO. He's won USO 25% of the time, as opposed to his 80% RG win rate, so it'd be pretty understandable.

A possible to salvage the situation is to have each slam go down to 32 spots. Week 1 the general field plays for spots 17-32, whereas the top 16 seeds get a bye into the second week.
Then you could have each slam 1-2 weeks apart.

16 time grand slam doubles champion and one half of the famous 'Woodies' duo, Todd Woodbridge
He was literally just firing off his personal thoughts

That said, RG can’t just piggyback immediately after the USO that’s insane, they gotta give another week of recovery

The worst part is Fed wins Wmiby, Djoker takes USO and Rafa takes Roland Garros and the next gens all enter pickle ball tournaments knowing they can't get a slam.

I think Federer only plays if his insiders assure him there's no chance of infection. His timely hiatus is my precedent for that. And I don't think he'd get that assurance.

I don't know. But it's certainly no surprise you're the one questioning whether it's any surprise.

What world are you living in, dude? One person in NYC dies every hour from this virus and your hard on is whether Rafa bags #20. Read this (not that it will matter to you):

Hang your head in shame.
Lol you really have serious issues, kiddo. For how long do you plan on following Nadal fans on this board ringing a bell and crying "the end is nigh"? My description of your behavior as manic earlier was all too gentle.

It's a fact that the cocktail is promising, your idiotic conjecture regarding my post notwithstanding. It's also hilarious that a headline like "one per hour" has your jaw at the floor, New York has a greater population than Switzerland or Hong Kong - is this your first day on planet earth?
