An update regarding Tecnifibre leather gripS

I was satisfied with the one I bought (see my last post), so I bought another one (but on a different site this time), to my surprise it's different, actually totally different.
There seems to be 2 types of Tecnifibre leather grips, you can tell the difference by the packaging:

The first one I bought which I'm guessing is the "older" version, the specs for it are listed in my previous post:
tecnifibre-leather1.jpg

The "new" one:
tecnifibre-leather2.jpg

Specs for the new one:
Weight (trimmed for L3): 18g (felt incredibly light for a leather grip)
Thickness: 1.5mm
Did not feel as connected to the racket as the other Tecnifibre leather grip, quality felt a bit cheap

Below is a picture of the two side by side, the top one is the most recent one and the bottom one the "old" one:

Hopefully this clarifies the situation regarding the Tecnifibre grips

Getting all funny with so much data.. I’m currently using Yonex Excel Pro AC128EX Black (1.60mm / 14 grams) and I need a replacement grip but lower thickness… ideally around the 1.00 mark - any suggestions guys ? I’m trying to get my Ezone 98+ grip to feel not too bulky and also, if possible, make the racquet just a tad more headlight.. so that I don’t have to add any lead to the grip. A maximum of an additional 4 grams. So the perfect replacement grip would be 1.00 with 18 grams or thereabouts…. If I’m not miscalculating - on an L2 ! Help ;-)

In the end, what did you do with the tecnifibre grips? Does the new model still look bad to you?

Has anyone installed a Kimony on a extended frame? I am afraid is too short.
107 cm sounds quite short, Wilson leather has 127 cm and is long enough, I had to trim it, but not like 20 cm.

Some stats on a brand new Yonex AC221 Ultimum Leather grip...

Quoted thickness is 1.4mm, dont have calipers but that seems to be correct
Directly out of the package it was 27g
The paper backing for the adhesive is 2g and I trimmed a small 1g piece off to install it on my Yonex VCP HD 4 1/2 grip

Any thoughts on how the Yonex leather compares to other leather grips? I’ve used the TW version and a fairway. The TW is fine with an overgrip but way too slick to play on its own. The fairway is actually great on its own— much more tack and a bit softer than the TW. The price point on the Yonex leather is high, and so I’m wondering how it compares to other premium grips.

Maybe tecnifibre x-tra full (2,1 mm)

I’d like some help in customizing my Ezone 98 Plus pair. One is L2 and the other is L3 and I want to size the L2 up to match. Any product recommendations?

I just received my Amazon order, and bought some Wilson Pro Perforated "Feel" Overgrips (12x package) instead of my normal Wilson Pro 'Comfort'. These have some little wholes one surface. Anyone can tell in how they feel different? 'Feel' could mean they are thinner ?
I like how they feels and performs. Just very soft and stretchy when installing. And it won’t last as it absorbs everything quicker with the holes.

Anyone measure the Prince ResiTex Tour thickness?
I saw someone here state the weight was 23g off a Prince Phantom! o_O

There are two types of Babolat leather natural grips; FEEL and DRY & THIN.
Anyone know the difference between them?
Thickness? Weight?

A couple of slightly leftfield grip options:

(i) the Senston Chinese overgrip that can be found (with various names) on well known auction sites is not very exciting if you use it with the central ridge still in place, unless you like a ridged grip. However, if you remove that white strip of foam you are left wit a normal perforated grip around 6g and 0.6mm thick, which I find has quite nice blend of comfort but still retains the bevel feel. As it is highly perforated, it looks cool if you have a contrasting colour grip beneath it. It is slightly thicker and less slippy than Wilson Pro Perforated.

(ii) Prince have a squash replacement grip called Dura-Perf, which is quite thick at 1.9mm and weighs about 18g installed, but also has a nice blend of comfort and bevel feel. Despite coming under a squash listing, it is plenty long enough for tennis handles (may have just been incorrectly listed). What I would call medium tack and comfort, neither on the firm side nor on the squodgy end of the spectrum.

A little late in responding but I believe that packaging says 1.80mm.

I also believe that weight. I was doing some racquet matching today using those grips and one of them was much heavier than the other. I should weight them, but 23g cut was probably about right.
