Stan is still consistent in slams (his last real bad loss in a slam was RG 14 against GGL in 1R, otherwise the other early losses were AO 16 4R against Raonic and Wimbledon 16 2R against Delpo. Rafa had terrible results in slams last year but didn't he make the cut off but just had to pull out? Can't see Stan missing it tbh he'll probably end up around #5 again.

Agree, he probably will finish/qualify at #5 or thereabouts & I dare say it will most probably be his Slam results which ensure this...where others (outside top 4) will gribble away, Stan will more than likely accrue 80% of his points from the Slams.

Djokovic and Murray are the obvious rock solid choices, so .. 2/8.

Nishikori, Raonic and Thiem should get in given their career trajectory-potential and probably the only way some of them would "fail" is to get injuried - so let's say that on average two of them would make it. 4/8

Kyrgios, Zverev - I am quite sure that if playing full schedule Kyrgios would get in, Zverev is more an enigma but given his level of play recently and the fact that most players infront of him are seniours that are bound to lose their ranking ... somehow I have a feeling that he would be top 8 by the end of the year. 6/8

Federer - I have huge respect for Federer but I don't consider myself a blind fanboy. He would be motivated, he has the game and most importanly "the serve" which would help him to find his mojo. If he is injury free post US he should be in a decent enough form to collect 2000k points which are like 50-60% of the points he need to reach the WTF. 7/8

Cilic, Wawrinka, Nadal, Dimitrov - Grigor is too "soft" and unless he "peaks" for some Slam win or early Master title which should boost his confidence he would hardly get in. Cilic given his quality should make it but Marins "mind" often lets him down and you never know with him. Wawrinka is Wawrinka and the fact that he would have his good ranking till September he should "peak" at 1-2 events to gather enough points. Personaly I think its between Marin and Stan so my bold prediction for next year is that Nadal wont reach the WTF as top 8 - best case scenario he wins RG and make it as a top 20 player!

I forgot Del Potro, so Stan/CIlic/Zverev probably wont make the WTF either :)

Didn't take long did it? :p (Assuming you mean 2k or 2000, not 2000k which would be impossible even for the Fed)
