Welcome to Let's Talk Socks, a public broadcast show created for tennis players to discuss their favorite socks. I felt that such an exciting topic deserved it's very own focus time, so here we are.

I currently wear Wilson black socks that I purchased from Ross for close to nothing. I'm starting to think this was a bad idea. While they are athletic socks, my feet look extremely rough and are calloused quite badly around the big toe and also on the top toe knuckles of both feet.

Many suggest wearing 2 pairs of socks..Is this the magic secret, or are there better socks that I could purchase that would do the same thing.

I should add that I also have a couple pair of Nike Dry fit socks, and while they look super sick, they basically fit like pantyhose and probably do not provide much support.

I'm really not looking forward to having to wear 2 pairs of socks 4-5 days a week, so I am hoping for wonderful feedback from you folks on my alternatives.

thorlos..

or wear a thin pair of footies,(ie socks that stop below the ankle) beneath an athletic sock...you get the benefit of 2 without all the bulk of 2 pair.

I like this idea a lot..I have a bunch of thin puma footies that I wear for weight lifting or random exercise. I will definitley try this.

Thorlos are still the best if you like a cushy feel. Trouble is, after a few months, they lose their cush and get a little slippery.

Overall, for performance, I think Vital Sox and EuroSox are the best.

I'm thinking of trying two pairs of VitalSox. Compression, great feel, and no slippage.

My feet sweat too much while wearing 2 pr of socks. Get a breathable shoe and wear a thin, wicking sock. Btw, have a dozen pr. of those Wilson socks. Good for a walkabout.

Im going to try the 2 sock idea and see how it goes. My Barricades are a little big, so it may work. I also ordererd more Nike Dry Fit crews, so those should be perfect for double socking.

Use to wear Thorlos - lately have been wearing Head socks - they are fairly thick and cushioned. There is a seam, that could bother some people

I wear nike bball elites, awesome socks. Will wear the occasional adidas if I'm playing in Barricades

I've never really had a huge problem with my socks, but I've noticed that 2 pairs of gold toe no shoe socks are very nice as far as sweat and cushioning goes. I have a pair of elites, and might order another pair because they are so nice and cushiony and extremely breathable, and they also look sweet. Head socks are very similar to gold toe in my book as far as the way they feel.

I just tried a pair of VitalSox outdoor socks I had bought. Do good. Gray with green, so they don't exactly match everything like black or white, but man, this is a great sock. Slightly thicker than a Euro Sock or a VitalSox, but thinner and way better feel than a Thorlo.
