Lew Hoad

I have been fascinated by Lew Hoad and his power game. On YouTube and other sources on the internet, there are only really short clips, often just news clips of Hoad. It would really be great to find a court level view of Hoad playing a match. I just hope somebody has some old footage and posts it on YouTube. Should be pretty tough to find, over 60 years old footage.

The Wiki bio of Hoad contains a list of links to Hoad matches available on Youtube.

Hoad's greatest match wins were probably at the Forest Hills TOC in the late fifties, and these were broadcast nationally on CBS. They should presumably be available in the CBS archives, somewhere.

While he was in service, Hoad devised a weight-lifting exercise, doing push-ups with round 50 lb. weights placed on his back, which Hoad later believed probably initiated his back trouble.
