Interviewer: Na, Congratulations, I'm sure you know, you've made tennis history: you've become the first Chinese player to ever make a final of a grand slam in the singles.
...
Na: I mean, I'm so happy I can be the first Chinese player to come to the final, you know...I always do the first one.

Interviewer: So tell us about the match, you seemed to be a little nervous, restricted for a time out there?
...
Na: Yeah, I mean of course every semifinal a little bit nervous, Nah because I didn't have a good evening last night...my husband slept like...(snores) like this and you know...I was waking up every hour you know, so.

Interviewer: But then of course you saved a match point...have you ever won a match from match point down?
...
Na: Uhhhh, this year?

Interviewer: Ever?
...
Na: Uhhh, this year no, but before I saved a lot of match points.

Interviewer: So you saved the match point, you pulled through the second set, what got you through the third even though you didn't have a lot of sleep last night?
...
Na: Ehhh, prize money, you know.

Interviewer: Today is also a special day, though, because it's your fifth wedding anniversary as well.
...
Na: (Confused)...I thought it was two days later...it's today?

Interviewer: On our media notes it said it's today...the 27th, yeah?
...
Na: (To her husband) It's today?... I thought it was the 27th, uh no 29th...

Interviewer: Okay, well, happy anniversary...Okay, well last question: Your mom has apparently never watched you play tennis because she gets too nervous...do you think she might come over for the final on Saturday?
...
Na: Nooo...I think she prefers to stay in the home, you know? Yeah, I mean I will ask her many times: Please come with me.
Na imitating her Mom: Nah, nah I have my life, I don't want to come with you.

Hahaha I thought this was absolutely hilarious and I never knew she had a bright personality. Great to see. The true number one.

Li Na is my favorite WTA player. She just doesn't mince words.

"What was the key to your victory over Azarenka?"
"I played better than her"

Good stuff from her. I'd love to see her continue her success especially with her personality. I think it's really good for tennis in general.

So true! They are two players with huge amounts of class! If Nadal were to say that, you would probably say,"Oh, what a darling Rafa." But you'll crap all over Fed when he says it.

Sort of reminded me of Nick Faldo, when he asked Ben Hogan how to win the US Open, and Hogan replied, "Shoot the lowest score" :)

Why is she disrespecting Azarenka?

What a cocky arrogant, smug, player Lina is.

I'm sick of her condescending jabs of her opponents.

Why isn't she humble like Nadal?

Actually, I think she said "I AM better than her".

Her english is not great so I am not sure that is what she really wanted to say, or knows how it sounds to people.

Just so you know, every top player needs to have a sense of arrogance or cockiness. Some just choose to show it more than others. If they didn't have this, or they say, "Yeah, I guess I'm okay...", they wouldn't be a top player.

Not a big fan of Li Na.
Yes, some of the things she says ARE funny.
However, she was very disrespectful to her husband. If a male player spoke like that about his wife, that male player would be considered horrible. My wife thought Li Na's comments were out of line.
Also, Li Na, DURING matches, comes across as harsh towards linespeople and the crowd. Her continual complaining grew very old vs. Clijsters.

Ah someone who knows us better than we know him.
Welcome back, buddy.

This was what she said about him during the on-court interview... she was asked about it during the post-match presser...

Q. Can you clarify what you said about your husband at the end of the game?

NA LI: Because I was making a lot of joke for him. I say doesn't matter you are fat or skinny, handsome or ugly, I always follow him, always love him.

It appears that some people only heard her say "fat" and "ugly" (I dunno if that was what you heard li0scc0), but that was clearly not the case.

As for her "harshness" towards the linesman and crowd, I didn't watch all her earlier-round matches, but the only time I saw that happen was in towards the end of the final when she started to get a bit flustered. Not saying that what she did was right, but given the situation, I can understand why it happened. When things go wrong, every little thing will bug the hell out of you.
