Lightweight all-court shoe w/wide toe box?

It seems as if all of the wide-toe box tennis shoes are
  • heavy/clunky;
  • and or meant are for baseline style play;
  • and/or look like orthopedic shoes that my grandma might wear (no offense to grandma of course, haha.)
I don't mean like triple EEE width, just a toe box that allows for a normal/natural foot shape - you know, like the feet that most of us have.

It seems to be a major lacuna in tennis shoe design, no?

Any suggestions?

Many thanks, I'll check those out; is the whole shoe "wide" - or forefoot/toebox?
I would say the Supremes are just slightly wide all over. note that the recently released Supreme 2s are supposedly slightly narrowed to a medium - I have not tried the 2s

The Axilus 2 are also a bit wide all over, but the toebox is especially roomy (again, as long as the slightly shortened length is not an issue to you).

Not sure if you're aware, but TW does make comments on width and weight on its shoe product pages. I've found them to be generally accurate for my feet:

a couple years ago, I could give you more personal recommendations, but I haven't shopped for shoes in a while and haven't tried a lot of the currently available models.

I’m a Ferrer-style roadrunner with bad ankles who needs a wide toe box but locked-in heel and light weight. The two I’ve found that worked best for me were Head Revolt Evo 2.0 (great toe box shape and super light, but the cushioning was shot after only 8 months or so) and Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour (light, low to the ground, super locked in heel, wider toe box than photos make it look, although I wish it were a little bit wider). Neither of these are in the realm of Altra-style shoes, though, so I agree that there’s a big gap in the market.

A tennis shoe with an Altra-esque toebox and decent cushioning is kind of like searching for the holy grail. The few I’ve found in recent memory are:
1. Adidas solecourt boost: toebox wasn’t perfect, but doable by going 1/2 — 1 size up with a heat moldable insole for lockdown. IMO, best cushioning of any shoe with a wide enough toebox, hands down.
2. NB 996v4.5 2E: the toebox and cushioning weren’t as good as the solecourt, and fuelcell bottoms out quickly, but nothing enough to be noticeable when locked in on court.
3. Altra solstice: not a tennis shoe, and the cushioning is roughly equivalent to bottomed out fuelcell, but a solid performer if you’re okay with zero drop.

I was really disappointed by the NB996v5. The overlays on the lateral side killed the toebox, even going up a full size in the 2E width. Please post an update if you find anything you find anything that works! I need to find still in production to stock up on lol

I'd suggest trying the Babalot SFX3. The toe box isn't extremely wide, but the big toe line isn't bad and the upper is constructed in such a way that my toes can push out the outside of the shoe without pain.

When I do the insole test, my toes slop way over the sides of the insoles of all the tennis shoes I wear.

I would suggest the HYKES escapes barefoot shoes.
